Had to replace multiple first round defensive players and their QB. They did it. Had it not been for a generational QB at Indy last year, they would have won then too.

Relevance to Ag football: we played them close last year, then fell apart with the HC's personnel and scheme decisions.

Winning vs Losing. It's apparently that hard for our guy.

Miami aggressively targets the transfer portal QB market each season. They don't always hit on a heisman level QB but what they do is guarantee a certain basic level of QB production, a championship or playoff level floor.

Someone in that organization understands the importance that QB play has on the outcome of your entire season. We entered the 2026 season with one of the worst if not the worst P4 QB rooms. Combine that with a rookie unproven OC and we are bearing that fruit now.

They actually have a coach. And a QB. and someone capable of basic talent evaluation. And to my knowledge, their coach doesn't dislike a substantial portion of the fan base.

It took them a while for their coach to become competent. He lost to Jimbo at Kyle with some of the worst quarterback play imaginable for both teams. We had just lost to Appalachian State.

Their OC - Shannon Dawson is a stud. That's a huge part of it. Cristobal is like Smart. Former player and is all in.

Miami has played absolutely no one.

They could get beat by 3-4 SEC teams on any given Saturday

Cristobal places HEAVY emphasis on the trenches.
Always has. He's an OLine guy, and a damn good one.

I don't think they'll win the Natty this year though.

Maybe...of course, the U is always good for dropping a game like to Louisville or UNC....

Miami is not in "Miami". It's in a place called Coral Gables.

At one point, Miami (FL) nearly disbanded their team because it was so bad. It was a lot like a Rice or a Tulane. I encourage you to watch "The U".

It'll teach you that the Hurricanes are more attractive to the movers and shakers of that region than any professional team. Ever heard of Nevin Shapiro? He spent time in prison for doing certain things to fund The U.

They got gifted by the refs not once, but twice, at the end of the FSU game to keep them from losing

I think Notre Dame beats them in a couple of weeks. I plan on 40% of my pick off money going to it.

I don't think so.

They barely got out of that Florida State game and mostly because of a bad call.

But this is a very weird year. So who knows.

But I don't like Miami, so I hope they don't.

Cristobal is in the middle of year 5 at Miami. Your point remains, however. The blue bloods give their guy more than 3 seasons to get it right and here we are jumping ship in the middle of season 3.

I can't think of any coaches in the past 40 years who took such a severe step backward in year 3 and managed to create a championship program. Cristobal, on the other hand, took over a struggling program and made steady progress upward. There was no reason to fire him after year 3.

We won't fire anyone after year 3 because of the tradition of dumb contracts. It's cesspool dreams to think otherwise.

Miami might not even beat Notre Dame. They have holes in their defense that only FSU has exposed.

So is Rice

LMAO. The Rice fans who do show up cheer when JFK's speech hits the introduction. I love Rice, but it pains me to say that the students and alumni don't really care about athletics.

The U actually has a fan base. This started in the 80s. There are a lot more Canes fans than Canes alums. It helps when one of the top money-making agents is your alum too: Drew Rosenhaus.

"LMAO" all you want, but the concept that Miami is private doesn't explain where all the $ come from, and that was the point you apparently missed.
