Yeah those playoff appearances under jumbo was great. Wait there wasn't any?
Are we comparing playoffs with 4 teams vs 12 like they are the same?

If they had the same playoff system they do now, Jimbo would've made the playoffs in 2020.
If Elko had the same playoff system that Jimbo had, he would not have made the playoff last year.

Jimbo and Sumlin were both better.
Elko is somewhere around Sherman and Fran

Y'all won't like this. And I'm ready to be fire roasted for it, but I don't care. We should have kept him and let it play out, especially since he was already paid. At least his QBs improved. And yes, Mond did improve.
As bad as Jimbos offense could be. Wasn't this bad. And Jimbo only had a year with defense this poor.
Go ahead and light me up now.

I didn't want to fire Jimbo, mainly because the idea of paying someone $77mm not to coach is so distasteful to me. But I wanted to find an AD with balls enough to demand a real OC

After an 11-2 (6-2 SEC) finish, I had believed that Mike Elko had transformed the team. Before Elko arrived, we had lost 10 consecutive true road games, including 9 consecutive SEC true road games. Jimbo Fisher was responsible for all of those road losses except for a 42-30 loss at LSU on 11/25/2023. Unfortunately, we have lost 6 of our last 8 games against Power 4 teams, including 5 of our last 6 SEC games, dating back to a 27-17 loss to Texas on 11/28/2025. Elko had started 6-2 in true road games, including 5-2 in true SEC road games, but we have lost 4 consecutive SEC road games to Texas, LSU, Missouri, and Alabama by a combined score of 120-49.
If we lose our last 2 road games to South Carolina, and Oklahoma, we will go 0-5 in true road games for the first time since 2003. That would also mean going winless in road games for the 3rd time in 5 years; 0-4 (0-4 SEC) in 2022, 0-4 (0-3 SEC) in 2023, and 0-5 (0-5 SEC) in 2026. Also, we would carry a 6-game road losing streak into next year.
In addition, we will probably be home underdogs to Tennessee and Texas. If we finish 2-7 or worse in SEC, it will be our worst-ever SEC record. Prior to this season, we only had two losing SEC records: 3-5 in 2014 and 2-6 in 2022. We will likely finish 2-7 or 3-6 in SEC play based on the current win probabilities.

Elko is a defensive coach. The others mentioned are offensive guys with putrid offenses. If Elko could make a good hire on offense… things would be better. But Elko still has a decent defense.

Firing Jimbo for $76mil to go away, without a ****ing plan in place was a nail in the program's coffin.

Definitely not Fran… yet. I think he's overly committed to Marcel. I wonder if part of the reason Marcel is struggling so much is because Wiggins is so bad and the plays just don't work. He also could just suck

Lol watching some of ya'll start wishing we had coaches back, and knowing that ya'll were saying the same things about them as ya'll did Elko has been entertaining to the point that the loss doesn't even sting that bad.
This thread is comedy gold.

At least his pressers (Jimbo) where much much much more entertaining. So there's that…
