I don't think play calling alone is responsible for:

QB that stares down receivers; cant make routine throws, OL that absolutely suck at blocking, and an
offense that is obviously worse than 95% of the power 4 teams.

We are NOT matching personal skills with system designs that maximize their physical abilities.

It's one of those things you know it when you see it- trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. EVERYONE on the offense is playing hamstringed.

All of these QB coaches, OC, HC and private QB Coaches and they've made Reed incapable of completing the forward pass. He was not nearly this bad last year.

It's crazy. He went from serviceable to absolutely atrocious.

It's not as if Reed peaked at the end of last season. He peaked against Notre Dame, then the spiral began, and it has continued into this season.

Something happened to that guy the first half of SCar last year. Yes he did rally that day. But he's been dog crap pretty much every minute since. He needs a psychologist. Not another coach.

Maybe Klein who wasn't a great throwing QB himself was protecting Reed more than we thought? Plus having 2 first round WRs helps.

I laugh because I kept wondering why we never let him roll out and throw on the run. Today answered that question. He's worse throwing on the run than he is in the pocket.

Been saying this for a while. Reed doesn't have a strong enough base and core to throw effectively on the run. That's on top of natural inaccuracies due to trash mechanics.

QB coach is bad at evaluating and developing. Reed is bad then the backup comes in and throws to the inside , when it should have been the outside, of the receiver resulting in an interception. Now we have 2 ineffective QBs

I know you're kidding but that's certainly a way to get him out of the game! He wouldn't last a series with his small frame.

David Walker might have been a tad bigger than Reed and he took a beating.

It was really dumb. They should have hired an experienced guy and gave wiggins a better title/more involvement with calling plays.

High schools promote Wr coaches to oc. Not top 10 budget college programs.

That's exactly right. In the first quarter, he got crushed by a big DL and dropped the ball. He recovered it and we rallied in the game.

But I think that was when he first got truly rattled and he's been a head case since then.

Saban understood this. Elko should've paid attention. Saban knew Wiggins had value as a recruiter and with player relationships, but he didn't turn the offense over to him.

The pass plays called were good in that receivers were open and the OL held long enough. The run plays were also good; Owens averaged 5.6y against LSU (#2 Rushing Defense in the nation). Wiggins deserves some credit, but he has failed miserably at 1) QB development and 2) Calling the right plays knowing his QB is incredibly deficient.

Maybe remove that smoked visor and replace with a clear one and see if he can find the open receiver faster. Who cares if the defense follows his eyes. Use it to his advantage with a TE or RB he can switch immediately to,

That's what often happens after people get paid. They have a tendency to stop trying as hard because they feel like they have finally "made it".
