I have known for a long time that major Aggie sports are bad financial and emotional investments.
Most recently, players chasing cash to play wherever annual "business decisions" take them brings clarity to an ugly situation that is not worthy of being encouraged.
Agree about bad investments. For a season of home football, a family of four is looking at spending.... *math and searches ensue* Jesus H. Tap-dancing Christ! It's over ten grand, maybe closer to fifteen if you're talking decent tickets and not eating gas station tacos.
That could buy some decent vacations with more pleasant memories in cooler climates and more photo ops. Or, you could put that money into a S/P-indexed low-cost fund and average ...what, 10-12% ROI historically? And still watch the games on TV for only the most marginal costs and get the same emotional return (heartburn, grief, anger, occasional moments of elation)?
At this point, given that we're not watching fellow students but trained and compensated professionals, I'll take the other options.
