He blew off both reporters tonight. Is he pissed at them?

Yes. They screwed up the script a few times.

At half time they made him wait and wait, as Day's comments drug on. So he was rightly unhappy with them.

Doing both head coach interviews back to back live as they head to locker room is dumb.
Grab one head coach going in and other coming out.
You can't blame him for not sticking around any longer going into the locker room

Arch abbreviated his on the field interview after the game. He took one question and as the second was being asked just said "thanks so much…" and ran off. The ESPN reporter looked surprised that he left mid question.

I don't know about "rightly", but I'm thinking this was basically it. He felt disrespected by ESPN at the half, so he showed them what he felt was equal disrespected at the end.

Sark is so thin skinned. I thought you had to be above that kind of pettiness to be a college football coach. I guess not.

Fine by me, I don't want to hear what they have to say anyway..haha

They officially told him "technical difficulties" at the half. Was that a lie?

Goodness... You can do them both at half, they don't have to be live. Do one live and record the other for a 30 second delay.

I agree, he completely blew her off at the end. Pretty bad form in my opinion. The espn reporter said they apologized for holding him at the half. If he accepted that apology and still held a grudge or animosity that reflects poorly on him.

Espn is paying the school for the privilege of being there and that short exclusive is part of that deal. Sure there's going to be a PC in an hour. But ESPN/ABC paid big prime time money for, among other things, that 20-30 second exclusive.

The interviews are useless. The coaches are trying to do their jobs. The Networks just include them to give the "girls" something to do. It's like barrel racing at a rodeo. We don't need it or want it, but we all know why it's there.

Interviewing coaches during a game is a waste of everyone's time. They will hardly ever say anything that's not obvious, or just general BS. They never reveal specifics because it's not in their best interest to do so.

He was just being a flat out, entitled little jerk. And they cover for him. He was just a petulant child last night. Goes along with their culture. He got lucky. And he got lucky that Ohio State completely shut down

You know, **** Texas. Let them have their little week this week. It's gonna be a long season even for them.

They're not really that good. They have some high spots, but they're not what everybody's trying to make them to be. They just got ****ing lucky but that's football if you win you win.

But don't tell the sports media that they have them up on a pedestal along with arch.

A&M just needs to keep grinding and let's win against Kentucky. Let Texas just go **** off.
If you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me.

You can learn a lot about people by watching how they treat others in a "professional" setting, when the chain of command and power structure is in play.

What I saw there was a psycho that realizes that this is it, either win or lose your job.

We'll never know "how it felt" or "what was running through his mind".

All media of all kinds related to the mouse should be treated with disdain.

Don't feel sorry for her, I'm sure her clicks quadrupled because of that. No one would even be talking about it if Sark just gave the standard coach speak interview.

As Kenneth said, these interviews, post game pressers, which bottle of liquid is on the desk, etc are all part of the deal which gives these conferences, teams, coaches, etc a lot money. If the coaches don't like it, take it up with their owners, ADs, etc. ABC/ESPN paid for that access.

I get we all want to be in control but athletes, entertainers , etc are just regular people w/o the media and fans making them rich and famous. He needs to grow up esp if they apologized to him about halftime.

Good for Sark. Holly Rowe spends so much time trying to convince us that women have a ***** and men belong in girls sports. The way she made him wait when he was down 20 points at the half was JV.

It's really a non-issue. This is really far down the list of Sark foibles that I care about. He finally won a game against Ohio State. I'll take it.

Meh....It doesn't bother me. He's a winning coach. He can do what he wants as far as I'm concerned.

I wish our staff and team were a bit more ******* and less "let's be nice guys no matter what". But again, you have to be good to earn that.

I think the whole interview thing is the dumbest thing we do in sports.

"aww...yeah, ya know, we just gotta move the ball better and work on our execution and accuracy.....really it's gonna come down to who puts more points on the board. OK, thanks".

It's so stupid. We all watch the game. They aren't telling us anything important.

Who cares the interviews are always the same dialog they've always been when it comes to the end of game sports interviews. Especially the ones on the field. "I always believed in our guys", "They've got heart and left it all the field" and so on.
Hank the Grifter
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I think most would agree the interviews are dumb.
That's not the point. They've agreed to do them. Have for years. Every other coach does them out of respect for the fans, the network, and the folks conducting the interview.
But Sark is too good for all of that now. It's disrespectful and unprofessional as hell.
He's the kind of guy that demands respect from everyone but doesn't give it.

The optics of it are bad and I guarantee you he'll make some half assed forced apology this week because his bosses in the AD and the university know it was a bad look.

I'm laughing at everyone that says those interviews are silly or out dated or irrelevant.

There isn't a network in the world that broadcasts live sports, any sport, that agrees with you.

It is disrespectful and unprofessional.

Can we get a winning coach that acts that way? I'd trade what we have for it.

Our nice guy attitude has us looking like clowns after years in the SEC.

A little over two year, Texas has this being said…

"The AP Top 25 is ready for a new No. 1 team thanks to a historic day on the field for No. 4 Texas. The Longhorns beat top-ranked Ohio State in the largest fourth-quarter rally ever seen vs. an AP No. 1 team."

I don't care, personally, about Sark. Texas has Ana amazing team and they know how to win and that's what matters here to me.

If they are going to interview both coaches, just do it at the same time and have one live and one recorded.

No chance he apologizes. Nor was it disrespectful or unprofessional given how ESPN treated him at halftime. People who know what happened don't think it a bad look.
