Lived in a trailer. AC worked fine. But one really cold January morning I woke up smelling gas. A hole had rusted through the furnace. I opened the window by my bed and went back to sleep. Luckily I didn't die.
Also had a hole in the floor of my closet. Could see straight through to the ground. I filled it with Great Stuff.

No A/C when I lived the 4 years in Walton Hall.
Had a nice corner room I-10 w/ 2 box fans on opposite walls.
Very tolerable back then.
Would not want to do that today.
Last time I visited the Walton they had A/C window units and women.
Now that would have been nice!!

No a/c in Hart Hall in '64. But the physics building was just across the parking lot and had great a/c. So, my roomie and I would find an empty classroom in which we could do our homework on a warm night.

Alas, after a few months my roomie got kicked out of Hart Hall and went to live in one of the brand new dorms near Northgate. Dorm 19 had good central a/c, and I joined him for the spring term. I stayed in the same room 315 until I graduated.

They actually have central AC in Hart now, no more windows units.
