And I know a lot of people will say it was just Missouri state, but we've played an awful lot of patsies over the last 50 years, and it's still been almost a half century since we've accomplished this defensively.

That includes The wrecking Crew defenses.

Not saying this defense will end up being that good overall, but it's a really good start.

The defense just looked different than any defense ive seen in years. Everyone on defense played with a level of confidence and everything looked very natural. There was never any panicking of any play. No busted coverages or confusion

We allowed 77 yards vs. Samford last season and beat them 48-0. Missouri State is at least an FBS team. Not a great FBS team...but they're not some awful I-AA (FCS) team.

Is Texas St offense really good? tu is 80th after playing Texas St. What is Ohio St going to do to them?

By the way Missouri St lost to USC in their first game last year, 73-13, but they did manage to gain 224 yds in that game. They did go on to win 7 games and play in a bowl game, but lost to Ark St, 34-28, in the bowl.

Yes, we played a cupcake but so did Georgia and most other programs on the list. Objectively, our defense looked BETTER than UGA. That's impressive!

In my experience, you cannot draw a lot of conclusions about your offense when it beats up on an inferior team.

But you CAN draw conclusions about defensive play.

It carries over. We won't beat SEC teams 50-0, but it carries over.

Yeah, you do have to take into account competition and that it's only one game. I was impressed, but I will wait to be overly impressed to see how our defense is ranking when we start playing teams like this coming Saturday that have to be considerably more potential on offense than the team we just played, and of course the following week with Kentucky with a very offensive minded and known for his offensive prowess in their head coach, not to mention the following game that we all know, and are looking forward to with Lane kissing in the Bayou and that offense he runs

We will finish with a top 20 defense if not top 10. We can do anything at a high level and even elite level. Defense travels and it's going to lead us to victories over multiple SEC opponents that host us.

For those who watched, what happened in that game? I only saw the score and assumed it was domination. But between those stats and the fact the success rate numbers, it seems like it was a little weirder than the final suggests?

Clemson's offense is really really bad. Let's see how LSU does against ole piss this weekend before people start making mistakes about their defense like last year when they looked dominant against Clemson.

Best 3 stats to look at IMO are:

Opponent
1.Yards per play (1.6, 1st)
2. Yards per run (1.6, 8th)
3. QBR (61.9, 2nd)

Pretty dang good.
