Just wanted to see if it's just me.

But am I the only Aggie that watches the Paul Finebaum show and come away with feeling like he doesn't really cover A&M.

Not saying he's biased or slanted. Just sort of indifferent it seems.

Or is that just me.

Winning kind of takes care of these problems. Also we are in a 24/7 LSU/Kiffin news cycle.

Before the SEC Network, Finebaum was a regional radio sports talk guy. I first heard of him/heard him when we were about to hire Fran. I live in the Nashville area, so I tuned in to get the Bama perspective. I'm just guessing, but I can imagine that the reason he talks more about schools like KY is more out of habit than anything else. I don't think it's an intentional slight, I think he just got so used to talking about the "old" SEC schools that he didn't spend much time on us (or Mizzou) when we joined the SEC. He's got more of a national footprint now, but I think it's just acquired behavior.

The whole SEC channel doesn't cover A&M very much. When I got home from the game the other night I watched the SEC final which I usually do. They literally spent 7 to 8 minutes on Alabama, LSU and Texas each. They showed some of the game highlights, an interview or two even broke down some of their plays.

They spent less than two minutes on us and pretty much everyone else were literally at like 30 seconds. They even called the wrapup of most of the teams the "no huddle wrap up".

Now they were complementary of A&M and the highlights they showed were fair although they didn't show our backup quarterbacks touchdown, but they clearly favor, Alabama, Texas and LSU.

Finebaum was in love with Alabama for years. Now, it is Texas with LSU not far behind.

I listen to Finebaum daily. We just need more crazy fans to call in. He panders to his audience I think.

Finebaum offers ZERO value in takes on teams and he clearly suckles who is currently winning and panders to their fan base. His callers are horribly unintelligent and just yell. It is only T-shirt alumni who call in to dog their rival school. I can't see how anybody watches that crap anymore. I quit watching two years ago.

He is the James Carrville of the SEC.

He panders/caters to his core audience in the Deep South.
We don't check either one of those boxes. It's about keeping listeners/viewers. Billy Ray in Pig Knuckle, Alabama will tune in to holler at Pawl about Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, and LSU. And the rest of his audience is some permutation of those schools.
A&M doesn't move the needle out there. Maybe if we started winning nattys consistently but until then it is what it is. And I'm perfectly fine with that.

Paul Finebaum is the smartest man on the face of the planet. He is objectively unattractive, has the charisma of a dead fish, knows absolutely nothing about football, and everyone outside Tuscaloosa claims to never watch or listen to his show. Yet, he's pulling in seven figures a year (at least) and has a dedicated thread on every SEC fan site. The man is almost as smart as Tommy Tuberville.

You think he's insufferable now you should have heard him when he had his sports talk show in Alabama. The Jerry Springer of sports talk, although that comment may date me. How he was elevated to the bigs is a mystery to me.

One of the biggest downsides to letting sip in the conference is that once again we are invisible and forgotten while the conference and all its media satellites can't get enough of sucking off the bovines.

As long as we are stuck in the same conference with sip we have no value to that conference and will be taken for granted and ignored unless we ever actually decide to live up to some potential and win some hardware but we seem incapable of doing that either
