First and foremost, apologies if this topic has been addressed here before, but even if it has, it's probably been a while and I don't remember it!
As many of you know, in 1994, Texas A&M Football largely dominated their competition, going 10-0-1, and 6-0-1 (SWC) in conference play. However, due to players allegedly being "paid for summer jobs they either didn't perform or didn't fully complete", the 1994 Aggies were barred from appearing on TV, playing in a bowl game, and were not recognized for winning the 1994 SWC Title that they clearly won on the field. Instead, FIVE separate conference foes who finished a measly 4-3 in conference play were allowed to "share" the 1994 SWC Title.
Given where we are now, with players being paid, LSU bringing on former NFL players, the NCAA effectively neutered, the SWC no longer existent, and Auburn & other teams claiming old National & Conference Titles, is the time now for A&M to finally recognize the 1994 SWC Title that we rightfully won on the field?
Let me be clear: I understand that doing so does not really strengthen the A&M Football program in any meaningful way. However, it does finally & officially reward the 1994 team for their accomplishments, and for winning the title we all know they won.
I say it's time!
