There are VRBOs open around town or even 8 miles from town. Man I would rather stay around here for a game thanks having to deal with driving to Houston. 100% if you go by some tailgates and talk a bit, you will be offered food and drinks. Most opposing fans are surprised of how friendly it is.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

We are going to stay in a hotel close to Humble so I don't think we will make it into College Station until Saturday unfortunately. My buddy is good friends with a parent of one of the MSU players and apparently the AD is advising visiting MSU parents to not wear shirts with our school name or logo if you leave the campus and have dinner in the town itself. They also were providing some verbal de-escalation training for anyone who wanted it in the traveling party because of something that happened with a South Carolina coach and a policeman or security officer at a game last year. They are taking this trip really seriously and traveling with the school's general counsel and the top lawyer for Conference USA.

Seems a little over the top to me but there have been some incidents at SEC schools in recent years so I think it isn't something specific to A&M. I just thought it was an interesting nugget. I know a lot of Missouri State fans are excited about making the trip.

Y'all stop. I hope any visiting team has a positive experience and experiences the magic of Kyle.

Kindness costs you nothing.

The Bryan-College Station area has grown a lot since most of us were in school, and certainly since the SWC days. Your dining and entertainment options there won't look a ton different than any decent suburb. And a lot more alumni and families stay in town for game weekends these days. Hotel prices and restaurant wait-times are the only reason not to stay in town, but this weekend will be easier than a lot of game weekends.

Aloomni, try Former Students. tu has aloomni!

Oh noes, someone should tell the folks at the Clayton Williams Alumni Center that the building name has been wrong this whole time.

Considering it's namesake, it is ALL wrong.

Eh, don't let it bother you so much. Just lay back and take it.

The anti alumni push is one of the dumbest things that irritates the hell out of me.

If you graduate, you're an alumnus/alumna. Although, some definitions do still include former student under the term.

If you attend, you achieve former student upon departure. Smart at implementation to proudly differentiate without alienating because of Ags who had to leave to put food on the table or left to serve and were unable or did not finish studies.

All alumni are former students. Not all former students are alumni if using the terms deliberately as differing definitions.

Hello Aggie fans! We made a last minute decision to head down to Bryan/College Station for the game on Saturday. Really looking forward to visiting your campus.

The first question I had was about Yell Practice: If we happen to be in the area on Friday night, would attending that as a visitor and wearing MSU maroon be a bad idea? My group wouldn't really be looking to troll as much as just observing the tradition and such.

I have a decent amount of work colleagues and associates who went to school at rival Southwest conference schools back in the day and while they have begrudgingly nice things to say about the football traditions and campus, almost all of them advised us to find stuff to do outside of the local Bryan/College Station community on Friday night and during the day on Saturday. They made it seem like it's just college students and pretty much everyone else drives in from DFW, Austin, Houston, etc and goes straight to campus on gameday. We didn't know if the local downtown area is worth visiting or not.

Thanks! And we are looking forward to Saturday. We didn't compete that well in our opener at the FBS level against USC but we had a double digit lead on SMU a few weeks later, and ended up making a bowl game. Our hope is that we can compete with you all for a while and maybe keep it interesting like New Mexico State did in Tallahassee in Week 0.
either he had such a good time that he's still has a hangover….!! or he was trolling y'all… I'm a go with the ladder
