is this a networking deal? Because for actual game day tailgating, location is terrible.
Where are they located?
Just minutes from Kyle Field!

I thought about this post and have some similar feelings. If people have a business where this is beneficial for networking, great.
I scratch my head at this:
The Best Part Of Game Day Isn't The Game.
It's breakfast with family before kickoff.
Introducing clients to Aggieland for the first time.
Watching children throw footballs across The Quad.
Nothing in this is a value to me. The best part of Game day IS the game, to me. And introducing clients to Aggieland is not at that location.
It's been over 15 years , but one of my daughters rented a 2 bedroom a few blocks from Southgate, while she was in grad school. The place was very expensive, IMHO, but it did have a big yard for her dogs. It was pretty dilapidated, but you know, the rent is what the market will bear. I enjoyed being able to visit, and walk my pup up to campus and walk around. I noticed, on game days, (when I wasn't using my usual parking spot) a house right across from the AFS building. I think the address also says "Old Jersey" when I tried to refresh my memory. It was a 2 story house that was rented out on game day, and is in the same concept of this new venture. BUT, it's right across the street from Aggie Park. My thought those many years ago, was a concept similar to this one, where someone could buy up several dilapidated properties and do something like this. It was very easy to walk back to her house post game.
I drove down that street maybe 10 years ago, and that house is no longer there. It was leveled and it's now a 2 story with probably at least 4 bedrooms.
Just my opinion, but best wishes to the developer.

Yeah, that's essentially what I was trying to say, but I acknowledge I'm just rambling on a Sunday night.

I actually thought this was a decent luxury option for those who can afford but was not aware of the lack of bedrooms. 560k and you have to couch it?
Because its not zoned for Residential I don't think you can spend the night.
Further proof zoning is idiotic…
No, it's further proof this plan is idiotic...
Nah. Nothing can prove commerce is a bad idea. Your personal opinion is an opinion not a fact.

Gabe told you about the reservations. But commerce is not just transactions but ideas. Their reservations show roughly what the validation is regardless of your AUGUST opinion of the venture.85AustinAg said:greg.w.h said:85AustinAg said:greg.w.h said:85AustinAg said:leftlane4passing said:greg.w.h said:

Wrong. Commerce can be proven by sales and pricing of the units or lack thereof.

Well…I bet it's air conditioned which climate controlled storage really is not. You might never have been in one?AustinCountyAg said:
even if I was Elon Musk I'd roll my eyes at this. The concept is "okay", but the location and lack of amenities (i.e. a bedroom) makes this entire idea ridiculous.
It's literally nothing more than paying for a climate controlled storage unit in Bryan to tailgate at before a game.

Problem here is they took some undeveloped land that is far away from Kyle Field. On game days that's 45 minutes away.. not "minutes."

This isn't much different from someone buying a $750k-$2M motorhome that only use it 4-5 times a year for Aggie tailgates. We have a smaller motorhome that's a sliver of that cost and there's plenty of Ags that do this. Of course there's a difference of being on campus, but a lot of the tailgaters from the Bush and the Equestian lots are taking shuttles to the game anyways. These will do better than a lot of people here think.

Except that you don't pay property taxes and HOA fees on a motor home and have the option to use it anywhere.
