I don't see how Sorsby had a "likelihood of success" on his underlying claim, which is a requirement for a temporary injunction. That said, this is dicey for Tech. If they ultimately lose the case and that happens before the end of the season, all games he played in will be forfeited and their post-season won't happen. The NCAA ought to push for a trial to occur ASAP.

We are truly in the "anything goes" stage of college sports. Why not just outbid the NFL for some of their best players. Sue the NCAA and get an injunction if they object.

Even if every game is vacated by the ncaa, the ncaa does not control the playoffs. So if a team is 0-12 according to the ncaa but they've won every game, ESPN and the playoff committee will see them as 12-0

Up until today, I've made sure my kids have college and pro athletes as their role models. The rapes and crime and womanizing and abandoning education wasn't enough for me to tell them to find new role models. But this gambling, too far!

At this point, all eligibility rules are null and void. There is nothing the NCAA can do if a player who has been ruled ineligible is ruled able to play by an outside entity. The only recourse the NCAA has at this point is to say yes Sorsby can play, but the punishment will be automatic forfeiture for Tech for knowingly playing a player that violated NCAA rules. Tech would then have to choose whether the player or the team is more important.

Coaches don't have to play the addict. He could eligibly sit the bench, or even better, he could be cut from the team by tech themselves and make room for another hard working kid who plays by the rules. Of course we know that won't happen because there are no owners in college football. An NFL team can release a guy if they don't want him heading their franchise. In college sports it's just endless committees with no authority or responsibility.

When UH plays tech, one of their back up defenders could just blow out his knee. He would be rejoiced.

This is a great point. Let the courts say what they want. We refuse to play programs that are going to blatantly break the rules that we all agreed to play by. These teams need to be blackballed.

I cannot see the reason a judge would enter this order. There is no need for it. NCAA has a rule, kid broke rule, penalty enforced. That should be end of it.
