As of right now ... we are sitting at (18) committed recruits .... adding 8-10more?
Here's who I've my eyes on for remaining (10) targets & positions of need.
Missing anyone?


LINEBACKER --
Wouldn't be a recruiting season unless we talked about this group. We have Aston Whiteside already & highlights look pretty good. Need 1 or 2 more here.
  • #1 --- Kaden Henderson, Composite 5* --- Probably the biggest priority target left. I think KH is priority #1 for A&M. Coming down to Miami and us ... ND in remote 3rd spot? Never count out L$U either. Lean towards A&M? Here we go again in a battle to land one of (if not the top) LB in the nation. We are due to land a top LB.
  • #6 --- Mikahi Allen, Composite 4* --- Committing on 7-11-2026 ... Staff targeting.
RUNNING BACK --
Don't have an RB yet in the class. As far as I'm aware the staff is only heavily pursuing this guy:
  • #2 --- Landen Williams-Callis, Composite 5* --- A&M Lean. I don't see the staff letting up here. Dynamic with NFL pedigree too.
WIDE RECEIVER ---
Have 1 commit so far - Upshaw, 4*. Maybe see 3-4 WR guys total
  • #3 --- McFarland, Composite 5* --- 5'7" Speed guy.
  • Guerrant --- Looks to be going elsewhere?
  • #8 --- Would be nice to have a tall guy. Would be awesome if Sales were a possibility ... but missing on him. I can see Damani Warren 3* / Composite 4*, 6'4". I see him becoming a big-body priority. Especially if they only have that one TE.
  • Dontay Tyson perhaps. He visits in a couple weeks.
CORNERBACK --
  • #4 --- Merideth --- Trending to sip still? I read into what he said after good A&M visit, seems still like a tu lean.
  • #5 --- Dobson --- Be awesome to take Meridth and DObson. But Dobson will rocket up the priority list if merideth is a miss.
SAFETY ---
Pretty set already for commits here.

TE ---
We have that one kid ... Holden Niemi (Had to look it up ... not memorable for me) & staff must've saw something good in him. Limited elite TE targets left here.
  • #9 --- Perhaps they land one. Malik Howard, 4*. Not holding breath.
OFFENSIVE LINE ---
Lot's of OT's already. Need guard or center.I see (2) more targets here. Both are beasts and are takes. Be nice if we get both, not expecting it though:
  • #7 --- Ismael Camara, Composite 5* Sluggers chance that he comes to A&M. Would be real nice.
  • #8 --- Albert Simien, Composite 5*. I think A&M lands him.
DL / EDGE ---
We are pretty solid here already.
Rumblings of DJ Jacobs flipping ... I don't buy it though.
  • #10 --- Segun Alexander, 3* .... I think he becomes an Ag. On3 has Clemson, ND, and Vandy ahead of A&M, but he seems to be trending this way.

I'd add a few targets: RB SaRod Baker, S Errol Kerns, WR's Jaiden Fields & Damani Warren. Sure I am missing a couple.

If we take 10 more I would guess the following: 2 LB's, 1 CB, maybe 1 more safety, 1 DT, 1 or 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 OG, and maybe a TE.

What did Meredith say to indicate a continued lean towards sip? Seems like the majority of recruiting analysts think that A&M has taken the lead back there

That's right with the big caveat that he is still scheduled for an OV to Texas. Given how close this one is, it could come down to who gets the last visit which is why OP might be more pessimistic.

I don't want to post a cut/paste of what another site charges for .... but there was a post-visit interview and it seemed almost all positive for A&M ... I read into a single comment that he said --- saying that it was going to be hard when the time comes; he had been coming to A&M since he was 14-15 and had history with A&M and he loved it and felt like home. This was right after the visit. Obviously the kid is getting the pressure from multiple sides, or the decision wouldn't be hard. He has to be struggling a bit with the decision.

Supposedly Meredith's family is pro texas. I think he likes both schools a lot, but I believe if this was pre-NIL era he would pick A&M. Whoever shows the most love ($) will win out. And I don't blame the kid at all, he is about to life changing money.

I don't know Meredith or Dobbs number, but I would assume this will be a huge factor in which direction Elko goes. If we don't get Meredith, we will atleast make texas pay top dollar.

Not sure if having Brandon Arrington helps or hurts us. Texas does not have a young corner at that level.

He stated 4 weeks ago to Ketch or who ever the ut was in the lead and the ut websites believe he is already sitting on the sidelones

Here is how I am seeing it as of today.............

LB----- Whiteside committed and we need 2 more. I think we get Allen on 7/11 and Henderson is without doubt the priority, but if we miss on Henderson, we will take a late riser in the fall or go portal.

RB----- We would take either LWC or Baker (committed to ttceh) or both, but as of today, I would say they both end up elsewhere and we either take no RB or grab a late riser or possibly venture to portal. As of today, I am going to go ZERO for RB

WR----- Definitely think total number is either 3-4 for our haul this cycle. I think we end up getting McFarland and Warren (who could possible commit this weekend or within the next week or 2 following this visit). We could see a late target emerge or possibly fall back to portal add and if not, that would be a strong haul with Upshaw, McFarland and Warren

CB------ either Meredith or Dobson and I am leaning Dobson as of today

OL------ Yeah, we only have Kennedy Brown in this class as an IOL. The rest are OTs. I think we land Simien or go with a late riser or portal add. Don't get me wrong, my #1 target is Camara over any other prospect at any position, but I don't think we end up with him.

DT/NG----- I think we land either Alexander or LeJeune and if Alexander jumps on quickly following his visit which I think he will (next couple of weeks), I think we stop pursuing LeJeune. Now, don't get me wrong, if LeJuene comes back later to us, I am sure we will take him



So, as I see it, we take.......... 2 LB, 2 WR, 1 CB, 1 OL and 1 DT/NG. So, if we take these 7, we end up with 26 total and that is where I have been thinking for a long time now between 25-27. I still think that is probably the good guess right now.

I do not understand how we could end up with 0 RB commits with this OL haul (arguably the best in the country). As a RB, this shoud be very appealing.

Not that I'm a recruiting ace by any means but I've never gotten the vibe that Camara was coming here. Would love to see Elko pull that one out his backside. Simien is a must either way.

LWC feels like a pretty high priority although I'm sure there are quite a few quality portal RBs

Agree that Henderson is probably the #1 target on the board
