This article is an absurd joke. Bascially one big accusation that Moss retired because he wasn't tough enough for the next level of the NFL after seeing a few days of minicamp. Sure it mentions the injuries but it reads like that was just an excuse used to retire bc he couldn't cut it.

Anyone with half a brain cell knows the guy isn't retiring without the past few seasons of some pretty devastating injuries. Sure NIL he made makes it easier to step away but if he hadn't had his knees destroyed the past few years he isn't retiring.

All the replies from every post I've seen is the same BS. Clueless people saying he couldn't hack it. Ridiculous.

Quote from article. (Seems reasonable speculation and plausible to me, too)

"But, folks will rightfully point to the NIL as a reason, too. In the pre-NIL days, college players needed the NFL to survive. This was all they had. This was their job.

Not anymore.

I don't know what Le'Veon Moss made at Texas A&M, but I'm quite sure it was more than he would've made a few years ago. Maybe he built a nest egg for himself and his family, and decided he didn't need the NFL? It's plausible."

Yes and I mentioned that NIL I'm sure was a factor....

But regardless of what he made in college from NIL there's 0% chance he's retiring from football other than because injuries. Healthy in the NFL has far more long term $ potential than whatever he made in NIL.

The NIL was a nice little "insurance" policy backup given his injury situation. But it's written to insinuate NFL was too tough for him so he decided what he made from NIL was good enough.

The problem with this article (and a lot of reporting) is that he read a couple of tweets and wrote it. No research, no quotes, and I'm sure no attempt at either.

Still, the article read just fine until the last comment and posting twitter troll replies - which puts a completely different tone to the entire article.
Then you realize its actually an Outkick "article" - which is just basically reposting tweets with a few words to tilt it for interest.

His previous "article" was about Paige Spiranac and the title actually says "stuns the internet" which I though was only used ironically these days.

Also the NIL angle should be celebrated in this case. Kid has already massively injured his body for this sport and has some money to show for it. Instead of pushing forward and having to completely cripple himself (injuries begat injuries) to have any real money in the bank.

And if he retired knowing he had to give the guaranteed money back, doesn't that suggest that its really not an option to stay and play?

Again, zero actual thought put into it.

Article says,
"Obviously, the injuries will be blamed for Moss quitting after just four days in the league. That's fair, and probably true. Those are tough injuries to come back from as a running back."

I didn't feel that it was as slanted as you make it out to be.

I don't understand why so many of our fans throw a tantrum whenever any article is written that isn't all sunshine and butterflies when discussing anything A&M.

"Tantrum" is an interesting choice. All I see is a post on TexAgs. Maybe you are throwing a tantrum in response to OP?

" Or, you know, he spent a few days in an NFL practice and decided it wasn't for him"

Are you and I reading the same article? Seems like the author just thinks Moss is lazy / weak. it's a bunch of bs either way. Moss is one of the toughest backs we've seen at A&M and an extremely hard worker.

There have been some comments from Elko that align with Moss possibly not wanting to play through discomfort and sitting when he didn't need to. But I don't know one way or the other.

My first thought, pure speculation. Was they found some other concern during medical checks not previously know. Keeping it private.

By Jove good sir, you make an excellent point. Bloody jack wagons, all of them. Probably written by using a few AI prompts.

I always liked how mature he seemed. Not constantly taunting the opponent, always handing the official the ball, and never seeming to get rattled out there. And he never publicly complained, although with his injuries he certainly had reason to.

But he could do himself a favor now by just explaining what he is thinking in walking at away at this point.

We are probably reading the same article, but I don't think everyone is out to get us. We do a good enough job on our own.
