Based on the spring game, he's ready to play and may be the best we have at the position.

Weren't our starters (Ricks and the Tennessee Transfer) both out? I could see him being right behind them by end of season.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Arrington. Everything I had heard was he was an elite athlete who needed to learn how to be a football player. I doubt he plays a ton this year but he might, looked really good.

Wish Watkins could gain 15 pounds by August. Other than being too thin, he looked good at LB. Very long and athletic but few freshman have any business playing LB in the SEC. I worry about depth at LB if Sanford is out for as long as I would guess.

Heard he basically is 5th on the pecking order at CB.

Goof problem to have. We have 5 legit options at the position

We'll see if he continues to make a push this fall up the depth chart.

Who is else above him? I can only think of Ricks, Gibson, and Humphreys. Would Currie both the other?

I like Ricks too. But Ricks technique in defending a pass is borderline which is true for many DBs due to the prevailing technique of playing hands rather than ball which leads to a lot of contact and, on occasion, a PI. What Arrington showed in a small sample size (hence why I used the word "MAY") looked to be comparable to Aaron Glenn. It's rare. Also impressive was his break on an out rout where he covered about 8 yards in a heartbeat and made a solid tackle with 0 yac. Whether this year or next, I think he's going to to be a great one.

I was referring to Currie. Shaw and Arrington don't really affect one another.

Yeah I agree he did look good in the Spring Game and made some impressive plays. Especially the pbu and the deep ball and like you mentioned the speed out where he reacted quickly and made the tackle for no gain. For the most part he was going against another true freshman in Gregory, It'll be interesting to see how he does against more experienced SEC receivers. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the rotation, he definitely has a bright future here.
