The image of Marcel throwing the ball 3 yards behind an open Theo on a simple slant for the tying TD vs Miami, which state led to the Miami DB intercepting it, will forever be burned into my brain.
Not burned correctly. You remember Marcel throwing the ball 9 feet behind Theo?
Considering Theo got his hand on the ball, I would say it was closer to 2 or 3 feet. Which in a game of inches can be significant. And obviously this case it was. But calling it an accuracy issue is quite lazy considering how terrible both QBs and both kickers struggled with the wind and Marcel had to put a little bit of air under the ball to get it over the middle LB.
When the wind is erratic as it was you can't trust your instincts as a QB. It's no coincidence Beck had his season low in passing yards that day either.
Marcel also hit Owens in the chest at the goal line on the play right before that but oh well
