I'm probably the last to know but just read Art Briles is the new HC at Eastern New Mexico University. Not Aggie Football related I know but still football related.

I'm not really surprised that an irrelevant division 2 school hired him. I was appalled to see the Stephenville high school stadium named after him.

Art Briles is now coaching at a division II school.

Yeah, he was on the Baylor staff. Art liked to keep it in the family.
Briles was getting paid abot $6 Million his last year at Baylor (a decade ago). He walked away with a $15 million buy out.
At Eastern New Mexico University, home of the fightin' Greyhounds, he has a 2 year deal worth $140,000 per year. I assume he invested wisely. ENMU is only 20 miles from Clovis, so the nightlife must be awesome.
I didn't know that as of December, Kendall Briles is the OC at South Caroline, getting paid about $2 million / year.

Side note: my wife's uncle was a tight end and punter (always thought that was an odd combo) for ENMU back in the 60's. He went on to be a HS coach in TX and said that he met Art Briles a few times while Briles was still in the HS ranks and always thought he came off as an arrogant a-hole.
Living in Waco my entire life, I can comfortably tell you Briles will always be considered a God…and Bart Griner was a woman. Sad state of affairs

I just looked up the town that school is in. Did Art run out of money or something? Why on earth would you voluntarily move to Portales, NM at the age of 71 to coach DII football?

my understanding is that briles was pretty much cleared of wrong doing? I didnt follow very closely, seemed like hysteria at the time, but i am often wrong.
That said, up until this last season, I have never been more impressed with the job a coach did than briles at baylor.
