Anyone who didn't see the teams falling apart at the end of both of Elko's seasons here doesn't understand football. 2024's collapse was definitely worse, but the last month of 2025included a dud against South Carolina[, a thrilling victory against the Samford Bulldogs, and two losses characterized but incredibly subpar offensive production.
We only played one game in the last month of 2025(December).
In the month before that (November) we went 3-1 (2-1 SEC) and clinched a playoff spot.
Why can't there be a middle ground on this conversation?
It's fair to say that this season was one of the best seasons in our program's history, easily top 5 I would think.
However, it did end disappointingly losing back to back games with a lot of mistakes and a struggle to score.
There should be a lot of optimism with where the program is now compared to two years ago, but we also want to progress from here and continue to improve
