How do yall feel about him overall? Do we think he has a chance to compete with and/or beat out Marcel this offseason?

He will compete but unless Reed gets injured then he is the starter going into next year.

But I really like Hart's upside. He has the skills to be really good.

I believe he would have been a top 100 guy this year if he had not reclassified. Should have been a senior in HS right now.

I really liked what I saw from him in very limited action. Like someone said, he should have been a high school senior this year. And I agree he would have been a top 100 player if he stayed in high school.

Elko will play his best QB. Y'all act like Elko does not want to win. Who was he supposed to start this year? Elko lead the Aggies to an 11-2 season in year two. Some of you guys need to stop this kind of stuff.

Here is an "Early Look" for our QB room going into the 2026 season:

1. Marcel Reed 6'1'' 175 - Junior (RS) - Here in 2026.
- Starting QB for 2026

2. Brady Hart 6'4" 195 - Freshman (RS) - Here in 2026
- Will become QB #2 in 2026 - Starting QB in 2027 / 2028

3. Helman Casuga 6'1" 220
- True Freshman - Will RS as a QB in 2026 - Will enroll in classes in January 2026.
- Will become QB #3 - Possible starting QB in 2028 / 2029

4. Eli Marcos 6'1" 205 - Freshman (RS) - Probable Scout Team QB - Here in 2026
5. Paxton Land 6'4" 225 - Sophomore (RS) - Probable Scout Team QB - Here in 2026

6. Miles O'Neill 6'5" 220 - Sophomore (RS) - Transfer portal - Gone in 2026
--- We will bring in a senior-level "Non-Starting" QB to be a player-coach to Brady & Helman.

We carried 6 QB's on the roster in 2025 and probably will do the same in 2026.

You don't understand Elko if you think this.
Elko will start Marcel until he thinks he has a better qb on the bench. Elko realizes that Marcel isn't the best qb in the nation.

He is 17 yrs old. I don't know that he or us will wait long enough to see but thanks to NIL, kids are graduating earlier. Who knows what he'll be. He's still super young.

At least he has the frame to put on more weight/muscle. I don't think Reed weighs a buck seventy-five at the end of the year.

I don't know why some people make such a big deal out of Reed's weight

Dude has gone a season and a half as the starter and hasn't missed a start

He's never going to be cam newton or Tim Tebow; that's not his body style

And how much did that matter this year, despite you mouth breathers freaking out all offseason about his weight?

Don't come to the zoo with facts. The mouth breathers will get their feeling hurt.

By the way I totally agree with you. Reed won 11 games and everyone is calling for a new QB. Damn it's going to be a long off season.

I really liked what little we saw from Brady Hart. He looked comfortable and composed and showed good accuracy.

His development will be a key factor in how we go about executing our offense next year.

For all those gnashing about over Reed operating from the pocket and limiting his exposure, it was obvious to me our staff was partially compensating for the fact they believed we needed to keep Reed healthy for the playoff. I was in agreement having seen the alternative especially since we had earned the right to have some cushion for basically all of the regular season.

The emergence and rise of Brady Hart would permit our staff to be a little less careful with Reed a factor that will likely be critical trying to navigate the SEC probably without the same level of cushion we enjoyed this season.

We are only 13 months removed from Elko benching a former 5* QB for Reed and some of you question if Elko would sit Reed if Elko felt he had a better QB sitting on the bench which gave his team the best chance to win. Unbelievable.

More than any Aggie HFC in the modern era, Elko will make every position earn their starting job and wor to keep their starting job.

Neither Reed or York are assured of anything, other than they probably will start as their development is so much further along than others that would be on the roster.

I don't know if I'm "sold" on him, but Casuga looks great to me. It was 4 interceptions and he had 9 on the whole season. So only 5 the other 13 games. It was his only multi pick game his JR and SR seasons. He did have a few as a sophomore.

His OL was shredded in that game. Reed was a 56% passer in HS and his highest season was 58%. Casuga is 67% passer and 68% his SR year. Always a good starting point, but of course there is significantly more to being a QB than just HS passing percentage.

Hart was also 67% overall and 68% as a SR. Both Hart and Casuga have shown a lot more as a passer coming out of HS than Reed had.

Casuga looked terrible in that St. Francis game. Granted, Casuga's team was overmatched, but he was rattled and sailing and grounding throws all over the place. Very unimpressive.

I will never doubt Elko's commitment to winning. If he doesn't bring in a starting portal player for a position, it's because he believes he already has the players on the team to win.

Assume he doesn't bring in a QB to challenge Reed, that is a vote of confidence in Reed but if Hart or Casuga show they have a better chance at winning games, Reed will be benched.

Reed played horrible on many plays during the year; the interceptions, fumbles, and missing open receivers. That is obvious, but you have to admit there were many plays where he played spectacular. This is why his QBR rank is #23 competing in the SEC without an OL/RB that could provide a decent rushing game. Elko knows what he is doing.

Big accurate arm but needs to fill out his frame

Sky is the limit if he fills out & puts in the work

As previously mentioned, he should get a lot of reps to showcase the arm in the spring game

Not many of those wins were because of Reed. Lol we had to run the ball vs LSU all 2nd half for fear Reed would throw an INT. Passing Offense struggled for most of Florida, Auburn, Carolina, and most the other Wins.
