i am sure i will be ripped for this hot take but i am. not ready to give up on marcell. i saw improvement in his overall game from last year. his issues are almost solely driven by his lower half/ foot work. i know i am in the minority when i say this but he reminds me a lot of jayden daniels from Asu/Lsu. he had similar tools and has had a similar progression uo to this point. i expect marcell to be better next year and if he can get consistent footwork i expect him to be a lot better.

Some pretty harsh comments on here and other threads.

I hate the transfer rules and NIL just as much as anybody, but you can't simply buy a championship team or switch QB's on the fly. The "family, love each other, build the program brick by brick" mantra still holds a critical place in building a winner. I think Elko has done well incorporating a culture of attention to detail in two years. More work is needed on that and player development.

The one mistake is extending him for simply doing his job. He was hired to get into the playoff, yes? Maybe he was year ahead of schedule - zero need to extend him. ZERO.

Outside of that, there isn't much to complain about after two years.

I disagree with the no need to extend him. With the amount of coaching changes at big programs, I feel you had to IF you thought he could be a great coach at A&M. Wouldn't be worth the risk of losing him

Reed isn't going anywhere.
Elko wants him here.
Reed will start but will be on a shorter leash just like Conner when Reed took his spot. We just need a promising QB2 to challenge Reed and take his spot if the opportunity arises. Hopefully Reed progresses and our QB coach and OC play to his strengths. Reed can get it done!!! Junior year is the biggest jump in improvements typically. LFG Reed….man up!!!

This is exactly the right take. Kept it real while supporting the team and our QB.
