Two observations about yesterday.

1. We have something like 78,000. There's gotta be a kid on campus that kick field goals in high school. Find him!

2. I've seen people being pretty hard on Reed because he threw the interception and I'm sure he owns that. We were severely lacking in the run game yesterday. The hard thing is I can't understand why. Sure their defense is good (I'm not sure it's great) but for the life of me I can't understand why a guy like Calvin Klein doesn't lineup a full back and bringing in some tight ends and run downhill and start picking up yards. In my mind if we're able to run a single back set and run a guy up through the middle and pick up a few yards then with blocking tight ends and other backs in the backfield or tightens in the backfield, we should be able to runoff tackle and get five or six. I'm not just talking about the last play the game either or the last series of the game. Miami did exactly what they wanted to do and that was make us one dimensional. I don't really feel like it had to be that way. At one point, we lined up in some kind of shotgun wishbone and I thought finally we're gonna run the ball downhill and then we shifted out of it. We have to be able to run the ball next year! This is also something I hope we can figure out with the new coaching staff and/or the portal.

Only two observations needed.

1. Klein is a fraud and now he's gone.
2. Reed **** the bed.

I would argue that the last two games we never really committed to trying to run the football. We ran 2-3x, didn't bust a huge run and Klein decided, "oh well, guess we'll drop back and throw it 40x "

Neither texas or Miami ran the ball worth a **** in the first halves either, but they kept at it and busted big runs in the second half of both games.

Our offensive game plan under CK seems to be subject to massive and immediate knee jerk reactions.

For observation #1, the kicker coming in from Shreveport is pretty good

Hope he is good.

Otherwise, the dude that missed the Gameday kicks before the game is already on campus. He got the ball up on both with distance but not accuracy, unlike Zirkel.Admittedly, he last kicked a football in junior high, but that can't be much worse than we have seen lately.

People aren't hard on Reed just because of the interception.

He had a horrible game.

That's great, but Reed is still here and likely the starter again next year, and just because Klein was a fraud, doesn't guarantee the next guy won't be either

We will never have another season where the schedule lined up so perfectly for us to win a national championship. We simply blew it and it rests squarely on Klein's ineptitude and Elko not fixing it.

Throws too many picks. And to make it worse, throws picks in the ****ing red zone. He had 3 TOs in scoring position alone yesterday. I never want to see his stupid number 10 necklace again. He hadn't earned that kind of bling

We've had two of those just in the last 5 years.. 2020 and 2025. You have absolutely no idea what any future schedule will be like. And with teams firing coaches after a 2nd loss, any team can turn into a dumpster fire at any point. We didnt get to play any fired coaches this year. We played them when they had everything to play for and are THE REASON they got fired.

It's so easy to look backward and act like a genius. But people you expected us to lose almost all of those games. You don't get to have it both ways.

My one observation from the last two games, Moss was obviously way more important than I thought.

Arkansas had already fired Sam Pittman when we played them. Samford too. Auburn, Florida and LSU fired after losing to us.

Read had a crap game, for sure, but without any run game, we have to put the pressure on on him to deliver an offense, and just can't happen. No run game = no offense.

One SEC team who fired their coach and even played better against us than before he was fired. We are the reason the rest of the team's who fired their coach quit on their season.

Klein is gone and thats a good thing. Its like he designed a good offense but doesn't know how to run it himself. No strategic vision or ability to adapt on the fly to his players' performance.

Wiggins better be able to rectify all of that or we'll be over paying for another head coach to sit at home in 4 years. The status quo on play calling won't do.

Formula is simple, put pressure on Reed and he becomes erratic quickly, doesn't set his feet and throws become inconsistent and he can't progress thru reads nor make good decisions (USCe and tu proved that formula and UM followed).

OL was awful in all phases yesterday.

Tempo/hurry up was when we had success (Reed would pre read and quick passes) and on coaches that wasn't employed early and more often in the game (to not allow UM DL any breaks nor substitute).

1. Elko made a major blunder with the kickers

the other kid couldn't kick in a high school game - he never should have bench Bond
his team has much bigger issues than the kicker
making that the escaped goat and his terrible run defense

2. Ireland has a ton of kickers someone walk over to the Irish professor and have him get on the phone

I've been saying this since LSU fired BK. It's nothing to brag about, because if teams fired coaches because they lost to a certain team, Texas would have fired Sark a while ago after losing to Georgia THREE times. Almost every team who played Saban's teams would have fired their coaches a long time ago. They fired their coaches because they don't expect to lose to us.

All teams fire coaches because they lose games they shouldn't. If they didn't, no coaches would get fired. Literally no idea what point you think you are making. We ended the hopes and dreams for multiple teams this year. When Alabama or Georgia does it, you give them credit. When we do it, you say its because we played bad teams.

Can't reason with you derps. Just go be miserable. It's all you know.

They weren't scared of Reed at all, so they committed a ton to the run and basicically dared Reed to beat em with his arm.
He couldn't do it.

I'd say about 10% of his throws were on target.
The rest were just sh*t, or needed the targets to play circus acrobat just to get their hands on it.

Everybody says the run game getting going will open up the pass game, and it's true.
It's equally true if you can get some pass game going it'll open up your run game.

And the 2nd one wasn't happening.

This statement is silly.

To win the national championship, we'd have still had to beat 3 elite teams, regardless of what our schedule looks like.

If you think we're good enough to do that, then the schedule shouldn't matter.

If you think the schedule matters that much, then we're not going to do to it anyhow.

Not bragging at all. Simply pointing out that beating teams before they fire their coach and have less than 3 losses (meaning they could still theoretically make the playoff, have everything to play for, have their backs against the wall, and are going to give you their best shot) is not the same as claiming we beat of bunch of bottom feeders.

I watched the derps on this board all year claim we would lose 4-5 games, lose in death valley, drop a game we shouldn't to an inferior opponent. All laughably wrong. All of them now claiming we played a weak schedule, a narrative created by the sips and adopted by the media who didnt bother looking at Tech, Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon, Or Ole Miss schedules which were equal or worse when it comes to easy opponents.

So ya, beating teams that are still trying is much harder than beating a given up Penn State.

And I feel fine today. It's been fun pointing out the endless barrage of idiotic takes here.

Biggest problem Reed can't play against the zone as he is horribly inaccurate. Look at all his red zone ints were thrown vs zone D. Not blitzing either we will see this forever or his butt will be benched. If we had any qb play we'd win by 20 or more.

Main problem was we had no TD capable offense.
