That isn't the concern. His skill set just isn't what you need these days.

Skill set? As in being able to hit a target?

I pointed this out when we were recruiting him and got a lot of **** about it, but he had, and still has, glaring mechanical issues that are known to cause accuracy and timing issues.

Specifically, his exaggerated flashing.

And it's a problem that is VERY difficult to correct at his age.

Well guess what?

His dad is a coach and he has had & has private QB coaching year round going back years. It is too bad that he isn't 220 like Troy Smith was as Marcel is a LOT like him. Smith wasn't a turnover machine and was a lot thicker & able to take more punishment.

How many QBs are in the portal that would be an obvious upgrade? If there is one or two you will have to fight LSU and other big money programs for them, no guarantee you even land them

You still try (if you trying to win big). Reed should be plan B at this point. After the last month there isn't a major program that will come for him as their focus. Elko holds all the leverage and as this is all a big business now I expect him to try to upgrade.

Reed can't pass with accuracy and the zone is his kryptonite. Zuhn won't be missed he was abused and Miami shoved in dry on his dumbass. He better learn to play guard because he isn't an nfl LT.

Hiring an OC that has never called plays isn't going to entice a QB to come here. We're going to have to money whip overpay for someone. And that's ok, that's the bed Elko has made. Now break the checkbook out.
