About to try my hand at tailgating for the first time at the playoff game. I, and probably 25,000 other people, registered for the digital land rush as soon as the link opened. Confirmation email came in at 6pm so I couldn't have done it much quicker. Hopefully I get a spot.

Got a generator lined up to run a TV and try to stream the game. My question for y'all is, how's the campus WiFi when 100,000 people are on it? I thought I had a Starlink secured but it's taking its time in shipping. Even if it comes in, is there too much tree coverage in Aggie Park for good reception?

Depends on where you are planning to tailgate.

Wifi will be sketchy for streaming. Starlink works great. We have used it for our tailgate in Aggie Park with no issues for the last three years.

Wifi is extremely spotty. Just so many on the wifi and cellular. I would 2nd the advice to just get an antenna.

Also, just a minor heads up, it's a little anticlimactic watching outside the stadium during the game because there is a pretty decent delay between real time and TV time. You'll hear the roar for every big play and the cannon go off for every score before the start of the play on TV. At least for the few games I've watched outside the stadium.

You sure about that cannon part? We usually have to wait to see if there are any mystery flags after every score before shooting the cannon off. That should more than make up for the broadcast/streaming delays.

Depending on where your assigned spot is there, you should know that there is usually a massive TV set up at the East end of Zone 2 (opposite side from the stadium). A lot of people pull up chairs and watch it on that. I assume they'll have it there for this game too.

So you need a TV because you or some others in your party are not going to the game?

Or you want to hang out at the tailgate afterwards and watch the Ole Miss / Tulane game? Better hope we win. Postgame tailgates after a loss are not much fun.
