It took us 11 games for the national media to start picking us to win a big game. Once we lost that game, we hit a hard reset. We're back to square 1, where we have to prove we can win a big game again. It's always going to be that way too. We're always going to be the "they have to prove something to us" team.

Vegas has A&M as of this morning at 3.5 points. I trust them the most because they've got money on the line.

Home field is worth about that much, Vegas is sayin these are even teams with us having the advantage at home.

Ok, so they are not picking us to lose then... better?!

Bovada is at -4 now.

In my opinion, South Carolina and Texas really exposed how to beat us. I also think there is a chance that we peaked too early. Getting moss back(hopefully) will limit that set back though in my opinion.

Defensively, I feel like we outsmarted ourselves at halftime vs tu. We were kind've playing bend, don't break against Arch's running ability but they only had 3 points. We stopped trying to get to Arch or put pressure on him just to contain but it exposed the secondary.

Offensively, we also outsmarted ourselves cause we got pass happy when we had the lead. Wish we'd done what we did at Mizzou I think it was where we just ground it away with the running game and shorten the game. If we could've eaten 5-6 minutes off the clock out of the gate at tu and punched in a TD or at least 3 we'd have made it a 2 possession game midway through the third instead of them quickly getting momentum.

TL; DR I think it's very fixable and we just need to play to our strengths cause we are the better team.

Unless the game is going to eventually be moved to a neutral field, this is a distinction without a difference.

Vegas thinks we're going to win.

They wouldn't at Miami and would make it a pickem at a neutral.

Great - we're playing at home though, so it doesn't really matter.

Agree - No one in the media and most of the college football analyst say we lose.

They see the following from the 30,000 foot level (right or wrong):

We lost our last game against t.u. and had to overcome a 30 to 3 score at half against SC.
Marcel Reed throws interceptions and is not a consistently accurate passing QB.
The media believes that Moss will not play at running back.
That both Miami's Offensive and Defensive lines are better than the Aggies.
That the Miami's secondary can handle KC, Craver, Bussey & Ashton BR.
That, if this is a close game that our FG kicker is not accurate.
Lastly, that aggie fans are selling their tickets to make money and the crowd
will only be about 80% true diehard aggie fans and not the normal 108,000.

This will be the hardest game that we will play in this season.
No one is picking us - We are the underdog and must Fight Like Hell to WIN...

one thing the pundits are missing...

the t-sips were a great home team this past year -- an awesome team when playing in Austin

the game vs. Miami is not being played in Austin

Make Reed uncomfortable really is a big point of emphasis and take away his first read. Saw that a lot with first half of South Carolina and especially Texas. Limited his first read and marcel just couldn't handle being uncomfortable. Wouldn't say that's all on Reed though, the more time he has the better ability for him to process instead of just throwing one up.

On moss being back, we can Actualy really establish a quality run game. We are a run first team at our best but had to rely on the pass especially South Carolina and Texas. There is a reason why Marcel is one of the best with Play action and one of the worst without play action. Get a run game going, lean on their d line, take some play action shots, and finish them out running the damn ball should be our game plan for this playoff run

This is just how I see it.

Look at who Miami has played since SMU.

The only team with a winning record was Pitt with a very poor OL.

They dominated as they should have, but the competition was pretty weak.

This conversation is all about perception. The perception is that they are playing dominant football and we have been struggling. The discussion never dives into the level of competition or why that might be.

I do agree.

If USCe was early season and tu was game 4 or 5 and we ended the year with Florida, LSU, MSU, Missou to close the year, people would probably be picking us to win the championship (and we'd probably be the 5 seed)

Our game plan against Texas on offense was extremely generic. And the run plays were interesting as well. Not sure why they did this, it seems to me they thought they could win by scoring just a few points. I doubt they do that one again and if we do, we deserve to lose.

It's like they wanted to do the Missouri game plan but not what worked against them such as quick hitting passes.

We also had very dumb false starts 3 different times that hurt drives. That should not be a concern at home.

On defense after Manning broke a couple of runs it seemed we over coached to stop that aspect and it messed up other areas. We don't have to worry about Beck running the ball so that should also not be a concern in this game.

I'm very confident we will have better game plans on both sides of the ball for this one. Along with being at home, I think we win this one by at least 10.

I don't think finding random people that nobody knows is what we are talking about.

The conversation is about national broadcast media people. Like Cowherd, Finebaum, Clay Travis, etc

Most of those people are picking Miami

So to recap this, the OP says that no one in the media is picking us, another poster points out that at least 11 people for major sports publications (hardly "random") are picking us, so the premise shifts to just certain specific people aren't picking us.

I think we win, but I see it coming down to the last play. I think Miami is sneaky. But then again I had us beating Texas by 10 so I'm not the one to predict lol.

This one is pretty easy and I saw someone else post something similar but there are 4 games to talk about. 2 are no contest, 20 point spreads so those are out. That leaves two games… OU/Bama and Miami/ Texas A&M. Picking Bama over OU is not even really an upset so that only leaves one game to pick as an upset, and that's Miami. People in the media kind of have to pick Miami. Otherwise, there's nothing to talk about

I quit reading when I saw OP say no one is picking A&M.

Everything I have seen is close to 50-50. And more importantly Vegas is favoring the Ags at home.
