Running back from my alma mater is the first rb in that storied program to hit 2000 yards in a season and holds the all time career rushing record in WOS history. He's a junior. Not sure what his grades are like, but we need to go after this kid.

This is the kind of kid that Klein will take at Kansas St and will have a great career. Darren Sproles / Deuce Vaughn

I'm always dismayed at the over infatuation of size for skill players. All the big schools put a lot of emphasis on this and multiple weeks each year we watch "undersized" kids running through their big defenses because they are quicker and can change direction faster.

Their team gets blown out because they are overmatched, but it doesn't mean the star smaller player can't play with the big boys.

KC Concepcion was only 5'-8" and 160 coming out of high school.

KC is not a running back. Bad example.

5'3"

I am sure his size fueled him over the years … but what a kick in the junk!

All that ability and miles away from any opportunity bc of the height alone.

Size matters when it is exreme. 5'11" vs 6'0" isnt going to matter. 5'3" vs even 5'10" is huge. Also 190 lbs vs 205 lbs isn't huge but 150 vs 190 is massive.

The career rushing record for WOS is quite an accomplishment. They've had ALOT of talented athletes over the years. They've also had some good kickers, SawEmOff! Hope youre doing well!

Jaquizz Rogers - 5'5, 150 at Oregon. Wound up 5'6 190 in the pros.

You also got to see the competition he is playing against. WO-S has dropped all the way down to 4A D2. That would have been 3A back when I was in school in the early 90's. I went to school at Nederland and they were in our district in the old 4A with PN-G, PA Jefferson, Jasper, and PA Lincoln. Btw Jasper is losing population so fast they might drop to 3A in 2 years.

Good for this young man. I thought Earnest Campbell was small.

I wouldn't write him off because of his measurements, certainly not as a junior. Height isn't as big an issue for an RB as it would be at WR or CB. I'd look at his capacity to put on some weight, how big is his dad, brothers, etc., does he have the frame to carry more weight. As someone mentioned, a look at his competition may say something, not only district but how well he has done, or does, in the playoffs against better competition. Speed, acceleration, being shifty are attributes that might sell me on a smaller than optimal guy.

You dont have room for anything on a 5'3 frame. Glad he's doing well but physical limitations still do exist

Asking him to block anyone is not going to be an option. He might be good for punt returns.

i think the kid could probably still
grow an inch or two. but in some ways being super short can be an advantage. these types of backs get lost behind all the hige lineman. it takes a special player and the rigjt opportunity but sounds like this kid is one of those rare kids that might have earns it at least somewhere.

Achane at 5'9" and 191 lbs is quite different than this kid. And I'm not saying this kid won't make it, I'm just pointing out that Achane is not the comparison you want. Maybe try Darren Sproles.
