All this talk of Napier makes me laugh. Like Jimbo, he's getting paid a lot of money to not coach so why would he want to come here for OC role?
Napier did beat tu this season.

Applying myself.
Resume:
-Will not call trick plays on the goal line
-Will not call a deep shot on 3rd and 2 after consecutive 4 yard gains on 1st and 2nd downs
**just a joke, actually liked Klein a lot. 2-3 terrible decisions I've ever seen him make. I'm sure if they had worked we'd call him a genius on those 2-3 though.

I know this probably isn't popular but give me Petrino and stay out of his way.

Can't we just get Jimbo since he's already on the payroll.

Mike Gundy.
He beat The Horn several times... in Austin, in Stillwater... with fewer resources and support than we have now. Going back to 2011, we've lost three straight to The Horn.
Have you checked the 2026 schedule? It's daunting. If we get this hire right, we could maintain our recent success. If we don't, 2026 may look like regression to our past, and eras where we lost 6-8 in a row versus The Horn.

Napier is a big "no thanks" for me. He oversaw DJ Lagway's lack of development.
I would love Napier. There are enough factors at play for me to believe that Lagway's lack of dev could be due to several other things. He's available now. He's a guy who Saban hired as an analyst, and thought highly enough of him to REHIRE him.

Hell no to chip kelly
Why? Saban had a lot of success with these kind of moves
Saban had success with Sark and Kiffin...I think wanting Chip Kelly is a lot like wanting Bobby Petrino...I could be wrong

Kliff Kingsbury
maybe, but his current scheme/playcalling might legitimately get Marcel Reed killed.Eagle78 said:
Ga Techs OC is who we want. Buster Faulkner.

East Carolina's offensive coordinator is John David Baker. He was hired for the position on December 1, 2023, and is now in his second season with the program. Baker also serves as the quarterbacks coach and was a 2024 Broyles Award nominee.
Before joining East Carolina, Baker spent three years at Ole Miss, where he served as the co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach. Prior to that, he worked at USC and has previous experience with other collegiate programs.
Quote:
Overall philosophy
Baker describes his offense as always "on the attack," playing fast, aggressive, and keeping things simple enough that players can execute at high tempo. He emphasizes that everything starts with establishing the run, then building off it with RPOs and playaction rather than being a pure passheavy Air Raid.
Core scheme elements
- Spread, nohuddle structure with a strong emphasis on tempo to stress defenses and increase snaps.
Rungame driven: varied run schemes plus QB run element, using the ground game to set up explosives. Heavy RPO and playaction usage, tying the run game to quick throws and intermediate shots. Passing game rooted in Air Raid concepts (Leach tree influence) combined with veerandshoot/Browsstyle vertical route structures. Flexibility to skew passheavy or runheavy week to week, something he showed at Ole Miss and has carried into ECU's identity.

Sorry but that would be a hard NO…That dude packed it in three years ago when he got the big head and started liking the smell of his own farts….The reason OSU is in shambles right now falls 100% on him….He barely kept his job going into this season after mouthing off about the fans last year…

Agree, but also not sure. Think he runs QB too much and Reed just doesn't have proper size/weight to do this. But, then again, Reed actually prob still a better passer than King (yes, debatable as King has improved, but still has unusual arm angle).
