Only game we were told to not wear our uniform when on the road was LSU...all others were required.

LSU was for obvious reasons even back then.

I remember marching into that hell hole of a stadium

12th man towels dyed orange

T shirts that had a cartoon longwhorn caricature being "serviced" by an Aggie Female Cadet

Other towels stating "I c*m Orange"

I remember them watering down their field so Rickty William could get his NCAA record with our defense slipping in the mud

As a part of their new inclusivity initiative to attract more cadets, the band will be matching in non-regs to sure the softer, gentle side of the corps where you can just be yourself.

This is straight from BQ. The Band paid, they have stopped due to cost. No member ever had to pay.

In my day we got watered down coke. They have water in the stands. Why they don't mix in some Gatorade IDK.

If this was big deal I'm not sure why they didn't ask for donations to cover cost

Maybe I'll start the donation drive for it. I mean, it cannot cost that freaking much.

Gatorade powder is cheap. They have coolers. Win win

When Bjork was here, the athletic department provided. During FOW and August practice he would come over numerous times with big ice chest full of GA and have athletic department personnel pass it out. The TABA has never been asked for support.

I nearly passed out after march in on Kyle in 1989 for the LSU Game. Standing on the turf field after my low quarters melted.

I survived after running back to the quad and returning to Kyle to sit in the sun...

ETA Stand in the Sun...

ETA In long sleeve poly and a tie...

Back when tickets were a quarter I'm sure! I graduated in 2009 and tickets were scant then, and we had to buy our own after an arduous march up Loserville's Main Street.

So, as suspected, there is more to the story.

First of all, let me start by saying LEVY SUCKS!
The Band used to buy pallets of Gatorade and water for drill and games.
Did I mention LEVY SUCKS?
They forbid the Band from bringing their own Gatorade and made them to buy it at field prides (i.e., concession stand prices- about $10K per season). They left cases in the stands sitting in the sun- and "good Ags" would steal a bunch of it before the Band got into the stands after the March In. Did I mention LEVY SUCKS?

So, the solution is, they worked with the Athletic Department to allow them to bring their own water into the stadium. The Band provides electrolyte packets (sugar free) the Cadets can mix with the water. They actually like this solution better because they can choose the flavors they like. Plus, the Band is saving the "good Ags" from themselves.

So, while LEVY STILL SUCKS, the Band does not have to deal with them anymore.

So, I guess the statement "they have to pay for their own Gatorade" is technically true, but that is their choice, as a free solution is being made available

I think there was definitely some breakdown in communication between band leadership and Qs.

And yes, Levy sucks.

Also I think the Sips had only 3 SEC home games this year. And Ohio State was away. So not surprising that they're pretty tight on allotment. I mean not that they would give us any more than bare minimum anyhow but still.

This is a negotiated deal with SEC input
Seeing as the first game of the renewed series was at Kyle We decided how many tickets we were going to get to this game

I actually think there was some mis-representation from the story teller. The water and electrolytes have been available the entire season. Sounds like he/she wanted Gatorade. I confirmed with a couple of cadets this morning during my visit and they all verified the availability of water plus electrolyte mix.

It was more than one. I don't know. Maybe they all got their info from the same upperclassman source.
