They miss the playoff and we get to drive home the fact that we DGAF about little brother.

Aside from this being a really dumb idea, there is 20-21 days between the tu game and the first round of the playoffs. Add in the days between Samford, or South Carolina for some, and we're looking at over a month off.

Why would we want to rest our starters this long?

This game will be a Groundhog Day version of LSU. sips lead at half then there will be an empty stadium in 4th quarter.

This is why the players work all winter and spring and summer. Why they work daily, building muscle mass and stamina; studying trends and working to build teamwork. Spending 100's of hours in the heat, struggling against others similarly motivated to stop them.

This is why they work all fall to achieve an extremely unlikely and supremely rarefied record of 11-0. All to get to the last game of the regular season against a highly regarded and successful in-State competitor; only to throw the game ruining their chance to be undefeated. They'll take the opportunity to complete an historic accomplishment they can remember their whole lives as the peak result they could possibly achieve. And they'll comically undermine all they have worked for; they'll render the importance of everything they have been doing as useless junk.

They'll do this all, so a few random fans could look at it all and have a brief mildly satisfied moment of selfish spite, then move on with their unrelated lives.

If you want the Ags to take everything they've worked so hard to build and throw it all away; you first. Take everything you own and throw it away. Quit your job and family and spend the natural life under an empty underpass. And know that you did it all so someone you don't know will feel a fleeting moment of semi-satisfaction that they'll forget in a month as the move on to the next thing.
