What is the reasoning for keeping IU above A&M.
Meaning is there legitimate data points to consider?

Bias aside, I really am struggling to see a justification beyond they just don't watch our games.

Their win on the road at Oregon

It doesn't matter, though. Either Ohio St or IU loses in the B10 Championship.

I've heard they will have us at 3 even if we win.

OP, I know how you can fix this injustice

Simply write a letter to the CFP committee, convince them to change their unsavory ways. It should work

They aren't accountable so they are trying to keep the SEC humble.

If you watch them, they are solid. They are balanced. Even though it's a weak conference, they win by big margins, albeit PSU.

They have a good QB. Good coach. It will be interesting to see how they match up with tOSU.

Calm down folks, 3 is a great spot. Reality is take care of business, it will work itself out.

They use metrics, but won't publish them which leaves us all guessing. If this guy has his sources right, and his predictive results are impressive, then the committee uses an SOS ranking that has us at 80 as of last week. Indiana and Ohio State are much higher. He wouldn't say where they come from, but claims it's what the committee uses.

The defensive efficiency numbers I've seen are also not championship caliber. After getting burned in years past looking past telltale deficiencies with our teams that would indicate a coming collapse, I try to make sure I take the maroon-colored glasses off before getting too hopeful. This time, I do believe there are legitimate reasons to explain lackluster defensive and game control numbers.

That's what I'm talking about

The best spot to land in the final pairings is 2 or 3. The 1 seed gets a tough opponent from the 8/9 game while the 4 seed meets the 5/12 which is probably a good 5 seed team like georgia or Indiana.

I think it is as simple as Indiana got there first. We haven't shown anything to justify jumping them. I'd argue if we were #2 they haven't shown anything to jump us.

Ohio State is going to lose to Michigan again

So let it be written...so let it be done.

why does Indiana get a free pass for playing a tomato can non-conference schedule?

So apparently his predictive analytics suck. Bang up job on Alabama.

I guess we know where the committee is getting their top flight predictive analytics to make decisions.

I only looked at his predictions of the cfp committee rankings. He's the only one using numbers to predict the rankings, and pretty much nailed it. Everyone else just explains the committee's results with "the eye test," and I don't buy it. The SOS is way off from every other measure, but I couldn't find anyone else using it.

Indiana is ranked 72nd in team talent.
They have 7 four star players and most of those are lower 4 stars.
They have a lot of seniors and juniors that have been playing together for awhile and they are very well coached and believe in each other.
I will be surprised if they get all the way through the playoffs.

Bias against A&M.

Their SOS is 50. Ours is 14.

I hope we get to play them and curb stomp them.

I hate when people use opponents record and pretend like Kennesaw St at home is comparable to Notre Dame on the road.

(Prior to this past week those 2 teams had the same record)

Exactly. Both Kennesaw St and Old Dominion are padding Indiana's opponents' record massively.

Most committee members just enjoy the freebies and scotch with their CFP buddies than know what's going on.

1. The upcoming #1 vs #2 B1G championship matchup. $$$$

2. Media loves them an underdog story

3. We are pretty much despised by most major media. Not necessarily unjustified because of our history. Also a lot of media wants to see the SEC falter as much as possible because of the dominance over the last ~25 years in CFB.

When you publish something, someone pays you for your content. So I'll gladly write a letter and you can be my publisher. How about we start at 100k? You don't have a 100K? Then it's not happening.

Sets up a national #1 vs #2 B1G championship game.

Don't worry about it... it will level out after the season.

We have texas which will jump us way up in the ESPN BS ratings, and we will have better W/L record and better wins

We win the SEC and we are #1 or #2... bottom line.
