I matriculated during the Fran years and have seen Kyle empty with folks trying to beat traffic more times than I want to admit, but when our boys were up against all odds, the 12th Man was right there to help them out. A lot if it is the second half adjustments that Elko has and a winning culture of complementary football that if one side of the ball is struggling, the other side has to pick up the slack, and we all saw that yesterday afternoon, again.

30-3 at half and everyone wanted to see what would come out of the second half. Less errors, more focus, and the kids really rallied hard. It was just as loud in the 4th quarter as I have ever seen at Kyle.

The guys never gave up and it was good to hear Kyle roar when we stopped them on 4th late in the game. This is a special group of guys and that was a game I will never forget. And we were all with them until the very end. What a great weekend.

I agree! Amazing job by the 12th Man. It's one of the many things that separate us from other schools.

Elko made a comment about that during the presser.

Paraphrasing, but he basically said he looked up and noticed the stands were still packed in the 4th, and gave some credit to the 12th man.

no question the crowd heavily impacted Carolina's last 2 drives in the 4th quarter

That was noticed by the recruits at the game.

That was one of the loudest games I've ever been to and I've been to a lot.
Certainly the loudest 11:00 game I've ever heard.

I was on the Student side first deck and it was surprisingly hot for a November game. It was a great crowd though, engaged even during the disastrous first half.

This was our kid's first football game. They fully experienced all the emotions of being a fan. Was a cool teaching moment too, never quit!

I was in section 134 of the game, and I noticed how the fans did not give up after a 30-3 halftime deficit. This was the loudest 11:00 AM gave I have ever been to.

The fact that the stadium did not empty at halftime was awesome. I see two things that really contributed to it. First, this team was undefeated coming into the game and had therefore built up an unusually large stock of goodwill. Secondly, the fact that this was an 11am kickoff. People still had the whole day ahead of them, with really nowhere else to be. If it had been a night game, I think you would have seen many more people getting an early start on the long drive home.

This team really believes in themselves and it has been contagious, infecting the 12th Man as well. I once left a game early in 2005. It was a 42-14 loss to a crappy Iowa State team. After a hot start, our team absolutely quit when momentum started to shift in that game. This year's team is nothing like that.

Kyle Field hasn't gotten its due in recent years, largely because our teams have continuously disappointed and made it hard to make the case that it's a tough environment. But what happened Saturday was truly unique in American sports.

There are a LOT of big-time programs that wouldn't have been able to fill the stands for an 11 a.m. game against a team with a losing record. There's not a single other stadium that would have stayed that full after falling behind by 27. And the crowd got loud early in the second half when we cut it to 20. I was watching on TV. Wish I could have been there. But it was special.
