Was there a fine here? Two guys going down seems worse!

Did USF get a fine?

If he was wearning any other jersey besides Texas A&M, all of y'all would say he was faking it.

If he was wearing any other jersey, there would have been no $50k fine.

I just posted two videos of other teams faking injuries...both are pretty egregious because USF routinely does it before PATs. In the other, two Syracuse players drop at the same time, and one pops back up when he realizes the other player has gone down.

To my knowledge, neither team was fined, and neither coach faced a public reprimand.

Most are frustrated because this seems like a rule that is not being applied consistently.

I'm more upset about the refs interrupting the game with phantom penalties every time we have a break away touchdown. Where's their fine?

So you posted clips of Syracuse and USF faking injuries and wonder why the SEC is not fining them?

Not all the conferences are instituting fines to THEIR CONFERENCE TEAMS for this....yet. The SEC appears to be one of the first in line for this new potential money grab related to the new NCAA rule on faking injuries this year. Too bad they can't go after Ole Miss retroactively for the last few years because that would be a lot of money.

The NCAA penalty is a loss of a timeout. If the team has no remaining timeouts then it is treated as a delay of game penalty (5 yards).

The SEC is the one instituting the monetary fine for some of you that aren't familiar with college football.

So my question here, if it happens again, 2nd offense, its $100k and Elko is suspended for a game? Or is it just $100k, then if there is a 3rd offense Elko is suspended?

I ask because this is the real concern, that if this wasn't actually a feigned injury, and it happens again in a similar fashion, then we are without our head coach for a game, that's truly a scary predicament.

The conference can now pull your coach for a game based on how they interpret an injury? That feels way overreaching. I don't feel like that's being focused on enough.

Chappell faked an injury to stop the play and that's what we got fined for. It's still ridiculous how we are the only ones getting punished for crap like this. I encourage Snakey to go watch an Ole Piss game **** himself

It also doesn't make sense in the context of time. We were at 12:30 left in the 4th Q. Had they been driving for a winning score with 2 minutes left, I could buy it.

Were you are aware that the Arkansas offense was in "flow state" at the time?

Don't let it be known that KC has been playing injured for several weeks....so debatable.

We should be fined for such terrible execution of a Fake Injury! He's standing there looking around then suddenly, like he just remembered something, he sits down. It was stupid... If you're going to flop at least attempt to sale it. Two play's later he makes a great play on the ball. Commentor made a comment about how well he recovered.

Yall realize you couldn't tell the difference between a real cramp or faking it.

Ive gotten horrible cramps playing tennis back in the day. You literally sit down and wait for it to end with a trainer rubbing the cramp.

Not going get any easier in Baton Rouge, Columbia or Austin. Team needs to play with their heads and play smart FB to win. Nothing will shut the SEC and naysayers more than just racking up the "W"s. Yeah...BS call, take the damn fine, and drive on. Let's go, Ags...BTHO Everyone and SEC officiating !

I would love to see us prank the SEC officials and the league office by sending our DL out with jerseys with most of the sticking taken out of the seams. First time an OL grabs on and pulls, they will be left with a jersey in their hands while our DL sacks their QB. They would be hard pressed not to call holding when half the DL is naked from the waist up except pads.

Both can be true... he was injured and we utilized it to gain an advantage. If you watch the series as someone mentioned earlier Chappel wanted to come off or was gassed and the coaches said he had to keep playing and suck it up as coaches often do. Then when he got beat like a drum the next play I'm sure the coaches up top were on the headset to get him out and then the GA signaled for him to go down. Yes it was an attempt to game the system to not have to sub or use a timeout for an injured player but I dont feel like it was an attempt to simply just slow down the Hog tempo becuse we had been dealing with their pace of play all game and they had not done anything extrememlly different on that drive with regard to hurry up or no huddle.
how did we gain an advantage when we were charged with a timeout? The only consequence to the outcome of the game was we burned a TO.

Can you prove he wasn't actually injured? To date we haven't had too many players go down like that, so I'm having a hard time believing that was a "planned fake injury."

For contrast: Oklahoma pulled a hideout play to steal a win against auburn. The SEC came out wagging a finger but took literally no further action.

Forever amused at yall who equate playing it cool to not questioning the apparent infallibility of officiants/ SEC officials.

Thought this post was going to be about Elko getting fined because he went off on all the bullcrap calls against his team.

Seems I recall a Dallas Cowboy QB (Aikman?) trying to change a play with a hand signal that looked like a "T" (Time Out) signal. Referee called it as a TO, but then dropped the TO call(?). In Dallas, (home cooking?)

I find it very strange for A&M to the first to get fined. I wonder what else they have in store for us? Maybe refs making critical call to insure A&M looses a game, or certain games to insure we don't make the play offs? When A&M is winning we have a target on our backs. It caused Jackie Sherrill to resign. What other dirty actions are going to take place?

Why doesn't A&M take legal action and claim biased officiating? The data exists.
