Sad state of affairs when tceh has a better logo than us

i hated their bevel too but was always better than ours. this new one is great.

Brand new logo. Same trashy fan base.

Our boys in the lab have been working on this for years.

I've always liked the Yosimite Sam mascot.

To be fair re: our aTm bevel, theirs was ALOT more tricked up and visually ugly / confusing than our simple bevel is. Their beveling was an attempt at a 3D effect. Ours is very simple.

Theirs did a great job making the logo appear 3D and did a great job of mixing their primary colors since they are an equal red/black school. Our bevel is just random strokes that are there for the sake of making our logo something harder for merch sellers to rip-off.

What cajunAg said. Ours is indeed "simple". So simple that it makes no sense. I'm anti-bevel all around but if we have to have one, at least make it correct. As it stands now it just looks like someone forgot to finish coloring in the "T". Looks like half of our logo is missing every time I see it.
God I hate that damn thing.

It kind of feels like our athletic department got swindled. TTU comes out with the "modern" beveled logo that looks like crap. Our AD doesn't want to get left behind and copies it. TTU switches back, leaving us as the only school with that abomination of a logo. It took decades, but they got us.

I know this isn't true, but it feels like it.

Not now. If we had done it first, yes, but now we'd be seen as copying Tech. Now is the time we quadruple down. Bevel the bevel.

I hate our dumb bevel. Good for Tech for fixing theirs.

To each their own. Not a fan of going back to just the red/white 2D one.

This is the new ATHLETICS logo!!!

They are copying t.u. The longhorn uterus head belongs to the t.u. athletic department as of the early 2000s. Departments and organizations at t.u. have to pay the athlietic department to use that logo. That's why most of them use the tower now as their logo.

This is just tech following suit. Now athletics will be able to collect all revenue from their new logo without having to share it with the rest of the university.

Personally, I have a big problem with this. The university should own all the logos, not the athletics department. I believe A&M still owns all the logos as opposed to the athletics department, but it's starting to look like that might change. You may end up getting your unbeveled logo after all, especially if athletics can use it to take money away from the university.

That is a terrible aTm logo. The A and the M are way too offset. It looks cartoonish IMHO.

I actually prefer the now older aTm logo where the A and the M fit under the T as it emphasized the T, but the new logo with the A and the M centered under the downstrokes of the T looks good also.

Tech needs a bevel because the letters are stacked. The flat stack looks weird
