Here's my top 15. Trying to make this 50% my bias and 50% what I think the AP will do:

1. tOSU
2. Miami
3. Oregon
4. OU
5. A&M
6. Ole Miss
7. Penn St.
8. Indiana
9. Tx Tech
10. Bama
11. Georgia
12. LSU
13. Tenn
14. TU
15. Vandy

Feels like the polls overcorrect with Indiana and Tech a bit this week. Neither should have been below TU last week. And of all the teams that lost today, FSU will suffer the most. They will drop a good amount.

Feels ridiculous to have 10-15 all SEC teams, but teams like GT aren't doing enough to move up IMO.

Edit: The TU ranking is my bias for sure. I bet they stay put at 10 or maybe even move up a spot.

ND will be running up the score all year if they get a chance.

Fake punt on 4th and long up 42-13 should tell you that.

They need to. They lost to the only two ranked foes they faced and assuming USC drops out they don't face another.

Don't forget about Texas Tceh

Tceh, Iowa St, Vandy, Georgia Tech, Mizzou are not threats to break the top 10 yet. These teams have at most a single ranked win, and none of those opponents are still in the top 25. Indiana gets ahead of this group because their marquee win is Illinois (by 53 points), who is still ranked, and just beat a ranked team on the road today.

Doubtful ISU drops out of the Top 15 after making it to 5-0 with three power 4 conference wins, regardless of how close.

It's pretty funny Bama gets more cred for beating Georgia than FSU does for beating Bama by double digits. That was a big win for the Tide.

Tech won @ #16 Utah 34-10 and has put up Madden scores against lesser foes. I don't necessarily disagree with you on how the polls will view them, but they absolutely deserve a top 10 ranking after what happened today.

That being said, I think Bama and Georgia would both curb stomp Tech, but I'd still rank them higher for now.

Yeah I know... I don't like ISU but agree it's hard to drop them. But it's also hard to keep ignoring Vandy.

I don't disagree with you, and it seems we also agree that it's not how it should be, but how the voters will see it. They whipped Utah, but Utah isn't ranked anymore. The powerhouse teams get the benefit of the doubt, tech is not one of them, neither is Utah.

By resumes alone, they have a better resume than the sips, by a lot. But the sips are on the inside and have done nothing to fall out. Tech is on the outside looking in, and while they've looked good, they won't be given the benefit of the doubt.

Tech needs an opportunity to prove it before they'll be taken seriously, Utah isn't enough. Other teams, like the sips, are taken seriously without having to prove it. If Notre Dame, t.u., LSU, or Ohio State started the season at #23 and had the same exact resume as tech, they would be top 10 without question.

The teams I included in the group with tech are in the same position for the same reason.

I don't think this is how it should be, but I believe this is how it is with AP voters.

I very much agree with you on what should be vs what the voters will actually do.

Tech gets little credit for the Utah win this week because Utah is no longer ranked... Lame because Tech beating their ass is why they aren't ranked.

OU got a BIG boost (questionable boost) for beating Auburn at home last week. Why shouldn't we get the same boost? Because we didn't get to play Auburn when they were ranked.

When the polls come out tomorrow I fully expect TU to still be at 10 or possibly 9 with Tech still behind them. I do think Indiana will jump them both though.

I will also add that regardless of how it shakes out, we are going to see a ton of movement in the top 20 this week.

We knew this was gonna be a great Saturday for football. The AP shakeup should not be surprising.

Every year this happens like clock work. We string some success heading into Oct, and some of you act like we should be ranked 5-10 and whine about the lack of respect our program gets. Only for things to fall apart by Nov.

Just win. Who give a flying flip about rankings now anyway when all we should care about is making the CFBP.

This seems well thought out, but with tu at 10. and maybe Vandy above Tennessee.

Thank you for your contribution to this discussion.

I'm sorry that A&M is one of the few undefeated teams left that also happens to have a signature win.

We should 100% have Elko not rank us in the coaches poll and we should call up the AP voters and make sure they all understand that we are surely gonna blow it again in November so they should go ahead and put us at 20 something.

Thanks man! If I fully took my TU bias out, I bet they are 9 and Tech is 10. I just don't see the AP moving them back after a bye week when so many top teams lost.

I could also see LSU staying above Bama and GA just based on the fact that they were #4. I don't agree, but I don't think the AP will drop them 8 spots for a road loss to a really good team.

Vandy and TN could also flip flop. Per usual though, this will work itself out when Vandy goes to Bama next week

I think what I'm most confident about is FSU was the biggest loser. Really sucks cause that win over Bama looks better every week, but they chose a bad time to lose to an unranked team. Those are the breaks.

So tired of Oregon even being in the conversation. PAC-12 teams always waste their playoff spot and haven't won't a natty in 21 years.

Did you mean old Pac 12, cause Oregon is in the Big 10 now?

And I don't have a problem with them right now. I've spent all night shaking my head at people that just can't enjoy A&M success. We have a really good team... But still, I don't think I'd favor us if we played Oregon tomorrow.
Faustus

Oregon would probably get the edge from oddsmakers most days of the week as things currently stand.

That being said A&M has a pretty good cushion as far as the playoffs. Even dropping 2 would more likely than not still suffice.

The Ags are IMO too close to being 2-2 for us to ranked that high

What!? We haven't looked amazing on both sides of the ball yet but guess what, nobody wants to look amazing and be 2-2. Equally, we are one completed long ball pass per game away from having dominant offensive showings.

In the scheme of things that's the only reason it matters when you're looking beyond this season's national championship

Suits will keep OU high because they want a marquee game for Red River whatever they call it now… game IMO is already a loser for hype because tu looks like a fraud and Mateer injury so need somehow to keep it a top 10 (if not higher) matchup

Another thing to consider about the AP poll is that the pollsters like to be right about their picks

After observing what has happened through the first 5 weeks of the season, most pollsters see A&M as a potential, with high probability, 7-0 team. Of course, our BAS sees 5-2.

Anyway, if they think we will get to 7-0, they will tend to overrrate us now so they can be right in 3 weeks.

Wrong. Name 10 teams that are better than us right now.

There just aren't that many, if any dominant teams.

Hell, most of the sad sacks on here thought Auburn would run us off the field.

I disagree. None of the teams actually look that good. There's a ton of parity now. Pre NIL I would have agreed with you. But a top ten team isn't what it used to be.

I honestly don't care what the poll voters do with us. It'll all work out as long as we keep winning!!! I don't think the score told the whole story - we were dominate over Auburn. Our defense is really good and we have offensive weapons everywhere. Marcel's arm looks better to me every week. That long pass that he over threw was a bomb and was two steps away from being a TD. I have a fair amount of BAS, but I'm guzzling the koolaid!!!
