2025 stats:

Noah Thomas, 6 ft 5 in., 205 lbs has 3 receptions for 24 yards for this year so far.
Biggest game vs Tennessee: 0 receptions, 0 yards

Mario Craver, 5 ft 9 in. 165 lbs has 20 receptions for 443 yards with 4 touchdowns this year so far.
Biggest game vs ND: 7 receptions for 207 yards

No comparison!

Noah seemed like he had such huge potential. Not sure if it's physical or mental, or both.

I was never impressed with Noah Thomas. We would hear about how impressive he was in practice, and it never really showed on the field for me.

What Craver and Concepcion are doing is what it looks like to be a truly impressive receiver.

Simple explanation, that is pure conjecture,

Noah had all the tangible qualities and skills and didn't have to apply himself or put in much effort, over inferior competition, to be the best, to dominate and appear as the prototypical 5 star player. He rested on his laurels.

With less physical attributes, Craver works.

The only thing that made people believe Noah Thomas was a star was his height. He never had a breakout game at A&M. He never used his height for advantage and could never get separation. Completely forgettable career as far as A&M receivers go.

Hopefully Elko has learned not to fall in love with length like his predecessors and focus on speed like we did this offseason.

Mike Evans body without the Mike Evans mind. Evans refused to be beat and wanted to humiliate the DB on every play. Thomas lacks the juice.

Why? These guys get paid now. This is a football forum where we critique everything football.

Many people on here, like you, were crying that we would have awful receivers this year after losing Noah.

Besides speed, he did not win enough 1-on-1's or jump balls, where KC Conception does.

Two words.

Separation speed.

Noah also took the brunt of double teams, as teams knew they had to stop the run and double him up and we were generally smoked.

That said, do I think he was worth the hype? Absolutely not, but his stats to me showed a team that couldn't throw. Which was generally true the past few years, given how easy it was for teams to scheme against us, and how many QB's we went through.

What do his UGA stats tell you?

They sling it pretty good.

So glad we didn't blow a huge chunk of NIL trying to keep him.

Noah and A&M would have benefited greatly from having KC and Mario alongside him. He's a big framed possession WR that you throw fades and work in the end zone. Was not going to beat you deep with speed or route running often. Not sure if he'd have a solid spot in the WR room, with all the talent we have. Wish him all the best down there in Athens.

Noah still could have been effective here as the #3 in the slot. Opposing CBs would have had to focus on KC & Craver, giving Noah a mismatch on a LB or Nickel as an additional option in the pattern.

But yes, as a #1 WR, no comparison to either KC or Craver. He just didn't have that ability to create separation.

It feels like a very long time since we had a receiver who could actually separate from the defenders. Also, having both KC and Craver should help each out since they will have to sell out on one of them but hard to do to both the whole game.

I wonder how Evans learned how to win jump balls…

Noah would give us another red zone option. As awesome as KC and Craver have been, both are smaller guys that thrive with space to operate. I'd like to see us get Niblack more involved in the red zone as teams continue to focus on taking those two guys away. We took a deep shot to him against ND and I hope we continue to do that as well. I like him a lot despite not showing much on the stat sheet yet.

Exactly.

Thomas wasn't a WR1 but he's good enough to be WR3.

He would've provided depth to the WR group.

Unless he wanted WR1 NIL money, we would be better if he had remained on the team.

Noah Thomas had the talent to be a great wide receiver, but he never really put in effort to hone that skills. In contrast, Mario Craver and KC Conception always give 100% effort.

Thomas was tall. Really all he ever had going for him.

He was never all that great at using his size, though.

I don't recall crying about having awful receivers, but ok. Go ahead and critique away. It doesn't change the fact that you sound like a bitter ex-girlfriend every time you bring up his stat lines with a new team.

This is a football forum where we talk everything football.

Nothing bitter about pointing out that the coaching staff did a great job finding better receivers.

You equating it to whining about ex-girlfriends is absurd.
