Sure, but now "everyone" will immediately go to the "they suck this year" card. They'll probably drop them to 20th, so if we beat them it won't be a marque win.

i am excited to play them but i am also quite confident no matter the outcome of this game bs miami, notre dame will play a whole lot better at home after this weeks bye week.
Their schedule is really weak, particularly if A&M and USC don't wind up being good.

I'm glad we kept the playbook vanilla vs UTSA....so we can hit them with all our weapons.
They have a qb that can run so I'm sure we will struggle on defense

We desperately needed to score for momentum when at 4th and goal so we used one that we shouldn't have and it was UT-SA
Maybe for ND offense, but you forgot to account for the kickoff or punt return/pick 6/fumble recovery for a TD as well to get to 34
I saw nothing special whatsoever from this ND squad.
Right now, I would say they're freakin out of our league and we'd have gotten boat raced playing them this week. Not saying that we can't beat them, but that's a heck of a team with a lot more grit and grind than I've seen out of Elko's teams yet.
Jeez, Miami was 5-14 on 3rd down conversions, and won.
I hope ND is 100% dejected and A&M punches them in the mouth to start their year 0-2.

Uh this was a team that lost to niu last year and rebounded to the natty game. They aren't going to be dejected. All their goals are still there

I hate to say it, but Miami played a great game. They're good. Dominated the line of scrimmage on offense most of the game. Very few mistakes on defense. Showed ND's vulnerabilities, especially when it plays zone. We should be able to pick the secondary apart … if Elko sees that Miami gave us the game plan on both sides of the ball for our game.
i think either of these teams would take us to the woodshed. hope im wrong. i think ND scores 30+ on us easy.
The game will basically be over heading into Q4, and all we will be doing is trying not to make the final score look bad. We are not a good "away" team, hence the BAS post. It is a comfortable 3 TD cushion win for the irish. And.....and....we will see countless....endless camera shots of carr's mother.....like last night in miami.
