Good teams don't struggle with teams like UTSA for a half
Good teams are cruising by 30 points at half ready to bench their starters and start putting in the 3rd and 4th string guys
Bad teams have to keep their starters in and hope they can tire out the other team and hold on for a win

Elko over correcting on 4th downs... Last year, went for it too much.
Now this year- we are punting in an almost no risk / high reward (reward certainly exceeding risk) situation at the end of half (8 seconds left, on the other team's side of the 50, with a timeout).

If Reed doesn't improve his downfield passing, teams are going to stack the line until he does. He started slow, heated up, but was poor in final drive again

Maybe not, but its pretty delusional to think this year was the one we were gonna compete for one too. Anything north of 8-4 is a bonus in all likelihood.

Most concerning thing I saw in the first half was lack of killer instinct. We'd make one great play, guys would pound their chests and the team would celebrate... Then we would follow it up with 2 or 3 low effort plays. We did that so many times I lost count

Of course we are. We're protecting Moss and Owens both coming off injuries and forcing Reed into passing situations to get him experience.
And we're winning and in control of the game vs a team some posers on this board said would beat us.

I mean OSU was only up 17-3 on Akron last year. They often play with their food and look like cr*p for an entire half against bad teams.
