You kidding? You realize it was OUR athletic department that wrote his contract up, right?
His 2020 season almost resulted in a semifinal bid….which the fans who post here refuse to acknowledge…JWinTX said:4 said:

That the BMAs made happen. If anyone with a brain thinks an AD could've stopped that abortion of a contract extension, nor the buying out of said contract, they are just not getting how things work around here.

That extension was after 2021...fully guaranteed, no matter what happened. Nobody really hated the idea of an extension, it was least understandable. But to FULLY guarantee the entire thing was ludicrous at best.

Jimbo had just beat Bama, was forming the #1 recruiting class, Orgeron was on his way out and Woodward was the LSU AD trying to lure Jimbo to LSU, or at least that what Jimbo wanted people to think. It's debatable if it was an overrated recruiting class, or/and an ineffective coaching staff, but no one thought within two years of that extension being signed he would be fired. Remember, it took a 10 year fully guaranteed 75 million dollar contract to lure him from Florida State to A&M; everyone was on board with the hire and the extension. No one here wanted to see Jimbo at LSU. Now, I'm just wondering how long it will take for everyone to turn on Elko, because the schedule for 26/27 are going to be that much harder. And the real salt in the wound is t.u. success over the past two seasons.
