Good afternoon Ags. Greetings from Louisiana.

Im putting together an archive of football stats for UL here in Lafayette. We seem to be missing the play by play from the 1996 game with Texas A&M. Would any of you folks have that and be able to share? Or be able to point me to someone who would have it?

all i know is we fumbled the ball like 10 times and lost i think 6 of them.

we would drive the ball and then totally **** the bed over and over and over again.

and jake delhomme was their qb and that little wide receiver that was the coaches kid was brando stokely

who knew.

Do the stats include Tu PAC's death?
I remember hearing the team was upset about that. Apparently USL was not.

Anyone else heard that explanation for our poor play?

There is youtube video of the game if you can't find a written one and want to recreate a complete play by play. (yea...I know; that is a lot of work) Looks like the 1st half is Ragin' Cajuns vs. Texas A&M, Part I | Cajun Field, Sept 14, 1996 and the 2nd separate one is same title but Part II.

I was sitting in the heat in Arlington Stadium watching the Rangers play someone, with a radio listening to that disaster of an Aggie football game. I've otherwise put that entire game out of my memory, much like the App State game many years later.

It was. I was there . Miserable performance .

USL had at least 3 good future NFL offensive players (Delhomme , Stokely, and Mitchell). Ags moved the ball but couldn't hang onto it.

We beat them 66-0 at Kyle the next yr but their better offensive players were gone I believe

I have been reminded many x by friends and family about that particular game for the past 28 years or so . Some have forgotten about it by now but I damned sure haven't.

I can tell you how to find it, and probably other games you may be missing:

Daily Advertiser archives are on Newspapers.com

It requires a subscription or trial. I found it by searching for Texas Aggies Ragin Cajuns and narrowing the date field to 1996.

First result is the September 19th issue with full coverage of this game including play by play. Apparently this game was a big deal, so there are several pages dedicated to it on the 19th, which was a Thursday.

the game started with half full stadium of cajun fans and ended with full stadium of cajun fans.

It didn't help that at the time most of the people i worked with in Louisiana where USL grads
