According to this report, it was from heat stroke after running a 1/2 marathon. Just tragic.

Wow, I don't pay attention to rosters and player info quite like I used to, but he must've been a pretty sharp dude to complete an engineering degree while playing a sport, and was just starting his career:

Not just a runner....but anyone....

we went from reasonable nice temps to mid summer temps literally in 24-48 hours. Everyone needs to give their body time to adjust. And not just 24-48 hours to adjust. Need to be out in the heat and properly hydrated over a longer period of time

I was by the finish line waiting for some friends to finish their race. Our group saw the ambulance fly by with their lights on but didn't think too much of it at the time just hoping for the best for whatever may have happened. As time passed and the race was wrapping up, I noticed a nearby family looking increasingly concerned and holding back tears.

It wasn't until this morning that I learned of Brian's passing and realized that the ambulance was for him and the nearby family was his....

Absolutely tragic.

Not to mention that the swamp humidity this weekend just built on it the temps. It was brutal weather for a long distance event
