Many people expected him to be Top 5, and a few even said No 1.
109 picks have passed and he is not yet picked.

  • Do you think he was overrated that much?
  • Are the NFL GMs colluding and blackballing him because he comes across as a high drama entitled kid with an overbearing superstar dad?
  • Do you think it is pure racism as some ESPN commentators allege?

What do you think is happening?

The racism angle is insane to me considering the #1 and 2 picks were black.

I think that it's a combination of him not being as good as he and his dad think he is, and teams not wanting to deal with the baggage that will seemingly come with drafting him…. Seems like you're not just drafting him, you're drafting him AND his dad

Thanks. I agree racism is not the case. About 75% NFL players are black. All owners want to do is to make money.

Do you think Deion is hated by owners because of his attitude/behavior? That may be the case. I am surprised he isn't picked even in the 3-4 rounds. I thought it would be 2nd.

Will he be drafted at all?

No team wants to put up a bunch of money to deal with two insufferable egos that will most likely blow up a locker room and creat drama throughout front office.

6th or 7th? It feels like if he were going to be taken, he would have already.

I agree.

Do you think he will get drafted at all? Teams seem to be willfully ignoring him.

Also, he seems like a pompous ass with his own draft room etc

Shedeur was confused moments before his brother, Shilo, anticipated Shedeur just got trolled, or pranked. Shedeur was still confused because he said he bought a phone and exclusively gave it to NFL teams to call him during the draft.

Dude bought 32 phones to give to each team so when they wanted to draft him, they would use it? Isn't that too pompous?

After the first round he said it was adding fuel to the fire and whatever team picks him "will be lucky to have [him]."

No one wants to deal with a pain in the ass. Plain and simple. He did it to himself and it is fully deserved.

I hope the experience truly humbles him and is a positive impact on his person. Everyone e deserve a chance. Not confident that he will respond accordingly, but the human in me hopes he can

Any talking head claiming it to be racism should never be listened to again. Crying racism when racism is absolutely not the issue, is the dumbass way of covering the real problem.

The NFL Is full of low character people and as long as you can play, they seem to overlook it to a degree. Which is why I am surprised no team took a chance on him in the first few rounds. He must be pretty much a jerk behind the scenes, more so than is known by the general public.

I certainly would pass on him to avoid all the baggage of him and his dad. Just not worth the risk or wasting a pick.

It's both. The kid is a mirror image of his dad. Threw his team under the bus in season, terrible interview, just a bunch of drama. Football is a team sport and QBs are suppose to be leaders.

Anyone that claims racism on this is an idiot.

League decider's believe he's not good enough to make up for the circus/clown show. Why mess with that when you can pick up "as good" without the sideshow? I wouldn't pick him in any round. Not worth my time or energy.

He refused many work outs with NFL teams, interviews, and they (dad/son) made it clear that he would play for who they wanted to play for.

Lol

Shedeur Sanders sent a warning message to every NFL team ahead of this weekend's draft.

"If you don't draft me, I will not be your quarterback," Sanders declared on Twitter Thursday morning, in what some are calling the most brutally honest draft statement in history.

"I know that might sound cocky," he continued, "but I've been studying the draft process real hard this week. And based on everything I've learned, if your team doesn't pick me, and another team does… then I'm gonna play for that team. Not yours."

He didn't stop there.

"Unless, of course, that team cuts me. Or trades me to you in the future. In which case, I might play for your team… eventually. But not at first. That's not how this works. So consider this your final warning about that."

Analysts are calling it the most accurate explanation of the NFL draft ever written by someone actively participating in it.

Falcons Release Statement on DC Jeff Ulbrich's Son Prank Calling Shedeur Sanders
https://www.si.com/nfl/falcons-release-statement-dc-jeff-ulbrich-son-jax-prank-calling-shedeur-sanders

Quote:

On Sunday, it was revealed that Jax Ulbrich, son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, was the perpetrator of the prank call made to Shedeur Sanders during the NFL draft.
After Sanders dropped out of the first round, a video went viral of Sanders getting a prank phone call from someone pretending to be an NFL general manager. After the draft was concluded the NFL announced it was looking into the situation. A few hours later, Jax revealed he was the one who made the prank call and posted a profuse apology to Sanders for the situation.

Following that, the Falcons released an organizational statement on the matter explaining what happened and issuing their own apology to Sanders and his family.
"Earlier in the week, Jax Ulbrich, the 21-year-old son of defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, unintentionally came across the draft contact phone number for Shedeur Sanders off an open iPad while visiting his parent's home and wrote the number down to later conduct a prank call," the statement read, via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Jeff Ulbrich was unaware of the data exposure or any facets of the prank and was made aware of the above only after the fact.

"The Atlanta Falcons do not condone this behavior and send our sincere apologies to Shedeur Sanders and his family, who we have been in contact with to apologize to, as well as facilitate an apology directly from Jax to the Sanders family. We have also been in contact with the NFL and will continue to cooperate fully with any inquiries we may receive from the NFL league office. We are thoroughly reviewing all protocols, and updating if necessary, to help prevent an incident like this from happening again."

The Falcons hired Ulbrich on January 18 earlier this year to become the team's new defensive coordinator. He spent last season with the New York Jets, taking over as interim head coach following the firing of Robert Saleh, and previously spent several seasons in Atlanta as an assistant coach. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sunday the team wasn't planning on taking "any action" Ulbrich over the situation.

If I was an NFL DC and my kid did this, he would be in for it. Jax is also not the brightest…he allowed it to be recorded and posted.

If it were just the "headache" aspect, teams put up with different forms of headaches including legal issues all the time, even for guys at lesser positions.

Take anonymous quotes for what they are, but this comes down to how grievously disrespectful he was of the draft process. Multiple coaches saying anonymously that it was the worst interview they've ever conducted, that he was aggressively disrespectful to them and tried to dictate terms to the teams interviewing him, rather than the other way around. Suggestions from teams on areas he could improve, and what they would like to work with him on, were met with complete obstinance. It raises the question of whether he can receive any criticism or coaching from someone who is not his daddy, who has been the only head coach he's ever had in his life
