I still have an autograph from when I was a kid attending his football camp in Amarillo. Great guy.

Over the last couple of years Bill Hobbs would often attend the San Antonio A&M Club Monday lunches at Aggie Park. Saw him there many times; he would give the invocation when asked and just walk around shaking hands, talking with the guys, and just spreading joy. That '67 team was a bunch of heroes to me, too. I have had the priviledge of shaking hands and extending my thanks to several of them over the years, to include Bill. People say it took some time for him to find the Lord but when he did, it took. His Christian Light shined; he goes to prepare a place for us.

God bless you, Bill Hobbs.

I spent a lot of time around Billy during his playing days. He was one of the most intense football players I've ever been around. Some had as much or more talent, but nobody ever played the game with more intensity than Billy Hobbs. I'd place him on the same level as a Dick Butkus and Mike Singletary (what is IT with linebackers?).

I was sitting two players down from Billy at the infamous basketball rumble with Baylor. Let's just say he was intense off the field too!

He clearly had a huge change in his life and was such a positive influence on so many.

God Bless Billy Hobbs.

I too ran into Billy many times on campus and spoke to him. I was in the stands at TCU when he ran that interception back a 105 yards. He had the bluest eyes I had ever seen, and his side to side vision was extrodinary. God Bless him for the man and minister that he had become.

I saw Billy play at Tascosa High (Amarillo), along with Vance Brack, Doug Valois (sp?), and Tom Gergeni. As I recall, all 4 went to A&M.

Until a year or two ago, Billy ran the Faith City Mission in Amarillo and touched the lives of a lot of folks.

I was 14 years old in 1967 and was fortunate to be present at the Purdue, TT, TCU, and TU games. The 105 yard interception return against TCU was unbelievable.

He will be missed.
