Idk. Minus a bad play or three, whoever runs that offense is light years more creative than we are…I'd take whoever it is right now.

I see you are enamored with slip motion

I am enamored with misdirection, motion, playing to strengths, hiding weaknesses, doing the unexpected, taking shots…all the things people tell me football offenses are capable of doing.

They did all of that and only scored twice on the same basic play. RB wheel route.

Their offense is not some complicated, genius-created system. It's a ton of screens and the occasional vertical.

The 2020 Tide offense was one of the best I've seen. Sark did an amazing job with Mac Jones at QB. The Texas offense is legit and will be so long as Sark is running the O.

The 2020 bama offense had like 8 first round picks including Mac Jones

Is the play caller really doing an amazing job when the entire offense is a cheat code?

Todd Monken was one of the best in the business IMO. He was a genius playcaller

We were far more talented than App St, so it's not just a matter of having superior talent. You still have to have a coach who can channel that talent.

It reminds of Summie trying to finesse every short-yardage goal line play. Just recruit a boolah-boolah back and rely on that highly-paid OL to make the first push while Jumbo moves the entire pile when he hits.

So was Texas when Kansas beat them in Sarks first year. So what?

Yeah the sips are just jealous they wish they had our offensive success this year. They would give anything to trade places with us, losers

This idea that Sark is a genius play caller is the biggest BS in college football. He is now 0-8 in the red zone, back to back years, to tie a semifinal game, and he comes out empty with some bs play calling. I like what he has done with the program, but he is not a genius play caller.

He beat our ass

Maybe, maybe not. Sark has recruited really well and it's obviously showing.

Sark has recruited well, alrighty

Oh yes. It's Sark writing those checks. LOL

What's next. That QB that switched from LSU to Michigan. It's bc the Michigan head coach recruits so well. Sure bud

Staying on the preface of this thread which so happened was started by a Texas law student. Sark was known as a good play caller. Not a recruiter but NIL helps out in that area obviously. Their playoff losses are both squarely on the play calling of Sark. So the one area he's known for is now a very big question mark.

They dominated college football and won the national title in convincing fashion. What more could they have done? I've never seen a great team that was poorly coached. Nick Saban, the best coach ever, had confidence in Sark? The O delivered in major fashion regardless of the talent level.

The osu quarterback finally beat tu in four tries. Klein was his OC for two of those years.

How convenient that you didn't mention that those KState teams he played on had less talent than tu. And the one time he beat tu, he was on a team that has equal or better talent.

I'm betting that when sark was at bama, if he wanted to call something stupid, Saban vetoed it.

95% of the time the HCs do not comment on the play calls at all until after the fact. Another time they may have input is if it is a huge play in the game and/or it's during a timeout. (I had friends in college that did the headsets for both tceh and A&M). There simply isn't enough time to "veto" a play call and get another one in. These days most plays have run/pass options attached to them anyways.

The most Savan could've done would've been to tell Sark, "Run the ball here!" Or something like that right after the previous play.

while the red zone playcalling had some headscratchers and signs of outsmarting himself,

i actually thought they did a great job of creating successful plays despite being heavily pressured.
Better than we did most of the year...

His offense should be better than ours. Sark himself said it was not until the middle of his 3rd year where all aspects were installed, understood and ran smoothly.

Why don't coaches leave it up to the QBs to call the plays whenever the ball is inside the Five Yard Line?

Sark is a great play designer. He's not a great play caller.

Totally agree. It's done in the pros. Not sure how often QBs can change or call plays on their own in college now a days.

Nope. Otherwise, we would've been screaming about the no call on the blatant hold.
