Nobody here seemed too upset when we were taking more revenue than Baylor Tech, OSU, Missouri, and K state.

Didn't we walk away from that deal to come to an equal revenue share in the sec?

That will not happen, ever. SEC will not agree to that, period.

Did they say that when they agreed they wouldn't let texas in the SEC back when we joined?

"Several industry sources said they expect the biggest SEC and Big Ten schools, such as Alabama, Texas, Ohio State and Michigan, to demand a bigger proportion of their conferences' television earnings when new broadcast deals are negotiated in the early 2030s -- a move that would drive another wedge between the haves and have-nots."

They'll get it. We'll support it too. Anything that makes more money for tamu will pass. That's all our admin cares about.

I would think other SEC schools would have to agree. I think they won't.

We warned the SEC over and over about inviting a cancerous force into the lymph system. They will control it OR destroy it. It is their only natural way. Rest assured this loss will not humble them or cause them to play fair in an equal partnership. There are multiple paths designed to take control. It will begin tomorrow. Spare me 'Bama et al. 'Bama is another new Nebraska. They are the past. The old SEC schools don't understand the media influence and sublime west Texas oil and industrial wealth they are now up against. Good luck.

Texas is pushing the boundaries of the sports finances. It'll be the top 3rd vs the bottom 3rd no matter how short the list of names are.

If the SEC hasn't treated Vandy this way all these years, it would be out of character to change the process now.

And we told them. They did not listen. They did not learn from past t.u. actions.

Not surprised, i seriously think there is the possibility that the conferences begin to fracture and even different tiered leagues could emerge. The SEC was built on a partnership model which was already breached when sip was allowed in, only a matter of time before fundamental structural changes happen.

There will be one super conference. Either the SEC or the B1G will have the upper hand in negotiations. Right now, it's the big. More big schools, more money in their tv deal, reaching more states, etc. Off the field, they are kicking sankey's ass. On the field they are catching up.

The only way it's not the B1G holding the majority of the cards come merger time is if ALL of the desirable ACC pieces come to the SEC. I think we need FSU, Clemson, UNC, UVA at the bare minimum. May need to take miami and another just to keep the B1G out of the south. That will create equal footing come merger time.

The SEC can't hope for that at all in the partnership model of the past.

The big 8 kind of morphed into the original Big 12.

t.u. didn't kill the Big 8. They were never part of it.

Do some of you not realize the CONFERENCE doesn't make decisions like this? The conference members do. The SEC is not full of Wake Forest, Boston College, Kansas, TX Technical 3rd rate hangers on that would be desperate to placate one or 2 teams to keep them in the conference like the ACC teams did for FSU and Clemson.

There is no way in hell aTm, lsu, Bama, Auburn, UT, FL, Auburn and UGA would agree to it, no matter what cow wants.

Again, you're looking at it from the lens of right here and now. If the B1G keeps pulling away in revenue, the top tier teams will demand more money to keep up under the threat of leaving. FSU and Clemson aren't asking for more money just for the hell of it. They're asking for more because to fall further behind will ruin their program. There is no team in the SEC who above asking for that. And the threat of the top teams going to the B1G WILL get the lesser teams to agree. We've seen this happen in multiple conferences now.
