Name the best A&M football player, based on his College AND Pro Careers..

If you include Pro COACHING success, I think it comes down to 6 names…

Mike Evans
Shane Lechler
Gary Kubiak
Dan Campbell
Von Miller
John David Crow

Myles Garrett is on pace to become the best that the NFL has ever seen. Period.

After that, I say Von Miller and Mike Evans. Von has won Super Bowls and was the freaking MVP as a defensive player. Mike Evans is an all pro every year and is breaking all kinds of records. Also, Shane Lechler is the best punter ever.

Jack Pardee says hi!!

As a coach, he is the only head coach to helm a team in college football, the NFL, the United States Football League (USFL), the World Football League (WFL), and the Canadian Football League (CFL).

All-American at A&M, College Football HOF, played 16 years in the NFL.

Dat was a bright spot on some very bad Cowboys teams but injuries did keep him from really standing out at a league level.

Absolutely Mike Evans in my opinion. Dude is one of the greatest WRs in the history of the NFL.

I never saw him play, but I isn't Yale Larry the only A&M player inducted in the pro football hall of fame?

Also, Dave Elmendorf was pretty good, too.

Currently to me:

Mike Evans - Came into A&M and quickly was a stud and left as one. Quickly became a stud in the league and has been historically consistent and is a Super Bowl Champ and surefire HOF.

Von Miller - Became a stud somewhat late at A&M. Came to NFL and was a stud immediately. Injuries have slightly derailed him last few seasons but he is also a Super Bowl Champ and SBMVP.

Myles Garrett - Stud 1st day at A&M. Stud 1st day in NFL. Consistently top Edge Rusher every year and NFL DPOY in 2023 might get it again in 2024. Problem with him is that he will never win a Super Bowl with Cleveland.

As for the other guys I'm sure they are great but these standout to me as of right now.

According to Booger McFarland, Myles was supposed to be soft and a bust. Myles is still waiting on his apology from Booger...

Von Miller is the winner for me if you only include college and NFL. Consensus all-American, multiple all-conference selections, #2 overall draft pick, defensive rookie of the year, Super Bowl MVP, eight-time Pro Bowl, 2010s NFL All-Decade Team.

If you include coaching, too, I think Aaron Glenn has a shot or at least might claim that mantle in a couple of years. He's also an all-American and multi-time Pro Bowler. Soon will likely become an NFL head coach.

(Side note: I still believe in Elko, but I have to admit that it's a little painful to see these rising coaching stars in the NFL who played at A&M while we've struggled to find the right fit. )

I love Ty, but he didn't have nearly the career (college or NFL) that Von or Myles had.

Yale Lary has to be on the list as he's our only HOFer (for now).

Von for the reasons already stated.

Richmond Webb b/c he should be a HOFer. 10 year run as one of the best o-linemen in the NFL.

Myles will be an all-time great very soon. He's held back since he's on the LOLBrowns.

Evans even though his college career was short (b/c he was so good).

Tannehill b/c no other offensive Aggie player (besides Evan) had the career he did.

Surprised more people aren't mentioning Sam Adams. All American in college, as a pro was first team all pro, 3x pro bowler, and SB champ.

One player we unfortunately didn't get to watch as a pro was Reggie Brown. Outstanding player who's career was cut short. He was a baller.

I think Justin Madubuike is going to be one of the best Aggies to play in the NFL once his career is done. He's already one of the top DL in the NFL.
