The Kiffin-obsession is with the Anti-Kiffin Obsessors on this forum.

Somewhat similar to the Anti-Mike Leach Obsessors on this forum before Mike passed away.

Any coach whose team beats us is a *#%@*%#.

Ole Miss lost to Kentucky 20-17 at home on 9/28, and they turned out be the only Power 4 team to lose to 4-8 (1-7) Kentucky. Like us, Ole Miss finished 5-3 in SEC games, but because they had a dominating 40-6 road win over 4-8 (2-6 ACC) Wake Forest in their Power 4 nonconference game, accounting for one more regular season win than we have. That inexcusable home loss to Kentucky will probably haunt Ole Miss fans until they make the playoffs.

We'd have gone 10-2 with Kiffin this year.

I'm guessing a ven diagram between the Pirate fans and Kiffen fans would show a lot of crossover.

I think, in part, people want kiffin here just so he can be a visible middle finger to the boosters.

Probably a recipe for a disaster. But at least someone in the program would publicly call out the entire AD.

He dislikes A&M as much as some posters here

I'm not saying I want kiffin. I just think that's explains some of the support

I loved the Pirate . Read his books and totally enjoyed him on sat radio when he was between jobs. I hated that he beat A & M so often but that was our fault.

I have an active dislike for Kiffin.

The only thing those two really had in common imo was neither has won championships at the highest level of cfb. Leach had a lot of respect for the traditions and culture of cfb. I don't think Kiffin gives a flying flip about it other than the opportunities it creates for him.

Maybe I'm an outlier, I dunno.

So what

Just like Leach, he loses games he should not lose all the time.

Both RC and Jimbo's crap offensive teams were set up perfect to lose to them. But both Leach and Kiffin lose to other teams they should not bc of their coaching flaws.

Saban lost to Texas at home and to Michigan in the playoffs last year. Alabama was favored by several points in both of those games, so I guess that means he sucked according to your logic.

LOL

This response is not worth responding. Just doing it bc it's so bad. Thanks for the laugh.

When will people learn that it doesn't matter who our coach is? We are who we are.

Kiffin would have this program playing much better football than we have seen in years. When you have an offense, you have a chance. I would love a coach that has us winning 10 games a year with a chance to break through. Just because he hasn't won it all at Ole Miss doesn't mean he can't win it all.

He's won 10 games thrice in 5 years, A&M has none in 25 years for starters. The COVID year is an outlier. Given that, his worst year at Ole Miss is on par with us for the last 25 years (outside of 2012 and the COVID outlier).

Why didn't we play in a bowl game at the end of the 2021 season?

Precisely, while Fisher chickened out in the 2021 season, it should be noted that the only reason that we did not get 10 wins in 2020 is because Kiffin did the same damn thing before Fisher did.

I don't support either one of them for that reason.

Plus Kiffin is a $%^$!

Upsets happen all the time in college football, and they will only become more common due to the transfer portal closing the talent gap between teams. Every coach has lost games that they shouldn't have.

And I'm not advocating to can Elko after Year 1, but at a minimum there has to be vast improvement on his side of the ball in Year 2 (should have been that way at the end of Year 1 IMO).

My gripe is the pearl clutching over someone who has won at a 71% clip (including the COVID year) and has won 10 or more three of the last four years in the SEC.

RC was the last coach that did that albeit with a watered down SWC propping a ton of those wins up.

Lol, with the most recent hire, how many people have we taken from Ole Miss in the last 5 years?

You are 100% correct and the fact that it's not zero but only 1 occurrence is all the more disappointing.

Since the 2000 season (25 Years) we have 1 10 win season (4%) of the time.

Kiffin's Ole Miss tenure 3/5 years at 10+ (60%). If you count the three at FAU since coming out of the Saban rehab institute, 5/8. (62.5%).

Seems like him winning 10 plus games is more and more becoming the rule with Kiffin and the exception for us.

Other than the 2012 season, you have to go back to the 20th century to find A&M's second most recent 10+ win season. The current A&M student body has only seen A&M football win 10+ games one time in their lifetimes. With that in mind, I'd gladly take Kiffin's "underwhelming" ten win seasons without any hesitation.

Does winning 10 games, with no championships of any kind, make up for hiring an *******? I mean, how would your life be better?

His offense would be very exciting to watch and he'd get much more talent here than he'll ever be able to get at Ole Miss. We'd at least have a chance to win something. There's really no hope when it comes to winning anything in our current state.

Ole miss seem more talented than this team, and with a good schedule, he still screwed the pooch.

Winning ten games, at least in the first year of the new playoff format seems almost like a prerequisite. Similar to our situation before kickoff of the tu game, we had to win that one and the SECCG to get in. We would have been an AQ at that point like Clemson but the magic number is 10.

Why were we in that spot? Because we screwed around and lost to a below average Auburn team bc our defensive coach let them score more points against his defense in regulation than they did all year against SEC opponents (including Vandy and OU).

Yes Kiffin blew it against LSU, UK and Fla. He had an argument albeit a small shred of one to be an at large bid. 8&4 doesn't cut it.

I want Elko to be the guy that finally gets us over the hump and has us in the conversation after Thanksgiving, not at Halloween followed by a crash landing. I hope he builds on the positives of this year and squashes the negatives. But until then, like it or not given all of our support, resources, money, etc. we are behind Kiffin's Ole Miss program in the SEC pecking order in terms of production.
