We lost to Auburn. I just think that needs to be repeated here.

Aggies and Notre Dame were tied 13-13 with 2 minutes left in the game. We played a lousy game and Weigman was awful. Riley Leonard beat us just like he beat Georgia. Why don't we have competition at the quarterback position? Weigman couldn't get it done and we no one left.

I felt we should have won the ND game but Conner was horrendous. Little did I know he would play like that the entire season (except for Mizzou game).

"At least we kept it within 10." I see that The RC loser mentality still lives on even 22 years after he was canned.

Moss injury was HUGE.

But the defense went the way of a dumpster fire. I mean letting a terrible and I mean terrible Auburn offense jump out with 21 points and a USC team playing guys off the street do whatever they wanted was just pathetic.

I'm much more concerned about the defense going into 2025.

Yeah... Moss was massive, but we score enough points in 3 of the 4 last games of the season to win them. This season came down to our defense absolutely caving. Our Offense wasn't great, but our defense was absolute trash.

Using the bowl game? Really?

The defense did play bad at times. Right or wrong they clearly were overlooking Auburn and it bit them. There's a reason most teams don't schedule a road SEC game the week prior to rivalry week. Next year our schedule went back to fixing this one.

Depends on which 4th and 1s in those final 3 SEC games. Some (many) of those 4th down attempts the opposing d-line made contact dang near when the ball was handed off

We were beaten by a less talented SC. We let auburn go up by what, 21? We had many more issues than a running back.
Yet 1 Moss score against Auburn and we're in the SEC title. A good Moss game against Texas and we're in the playoffs for sure.

It takes much more stretching to say things would have ended the exact same with Moss as to say they would have ended better.

Drives lasting longer because we get more first downs with a capable running back = defense on the field less = defense not getting gassed and torched as much.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda.

I will take that bet & see you there.

Outside of QB, because Leonard is obviously leaving, Notre Dame will be better overall at every position next year.

ND returns the entire starting OL, plus the 3 original starters who got hurt this year.
ND returns all RBs, including Love & Price.
ND returns 4 of 5 TEs.
ND returns all starting WRs in two deep except 1.

ND loses Mills & Cross, but brings back all other DL, including both starting DEs that were hurt early in season.
ND brings back 4 of 5 LBs in two deep.
ND brings back 3 of 4 starters in secondary.

QB will be biggest story. Top 5 recruit Carr is the youngest, but Freeman has hinted he will be the QB next year over the two older QBs ahead of him.

Assuming Al Golden & Mike Denbrock come back, ND will have arguably the best Coordinator duo in the country.

Game at South Bend.
I like ND by double-digits again.

That's maroon colored bull***** We got beat down the stretch because we couldn't stop anyone. This team was average at best.

Yawn.

We lost to Auburn in OT.

We lost to tu by 10 including multiple drives dying in the red zone because we couldn't get a few yards.

But yeah, it would have made NO difference, I'm sure.

Not to mention the fact that the best defense is keeping your offense on the field.
