We lost to Auburn in OT.
We lost to tu by 10 including multiple drives dying in the red zone because we couldn't get a few yards.
But yeah, it would have made NO difference, I'm sure.

We played Notre Dame at Kyle Field at night. In contrast, Georgia is playing Notre Dame without their starting quarterback. There is still 13:47 left.
The defense played badly, no doubt. Winning only one of the Auburn or Texas games likely gets us in, maybe we wouldnt if Georgia pasted us by fifty, but that seems doubtful. The difference between Moss and Daniels is very large (probably larger than some believe it to be). The difference between Daniels and Smith is an obvious gulf.

Yet 1 Moss score against Auburn and we're in the SEC title. A good Moss game against Texas and we're in the playoffs for sure.SteveA said:

It takes much more stretching to say things would have ended the exact same with Moss as to say they would have ended better.
Drives lasting longer because we get more first downs with a capable running back = defense on the field less = defense not getting gassed and torched as much.

You might not go down 21 if you have Moss to have more consistent drives.
Moss is our best player, and probably also the biggest drop off in value in the team including quarterback. Moss ran for 100 more yards on twenty fewer carries this year than Daniels. Daniels great second back to have, kinda just a pretty good starter, and depth beyond was a team weakness

It's sad that most of our team was Moss and the defense disappeared after Moss's injury
Lost our most important player in Moss. Offense not talented enough this year to lose him in year one of a coaching change.

Making the playoffs doesnt mean you were a contender. We just needed to look better than, checks notes…SMU to get in.
