People can try and pretend otherwise, but there is an undeniable correlation between recruiting and winning national titles. Notice that the feel good teams composed of nothing but two and three star players never win national titles.

Not a bad idea. It is easier to make the POs from the B12 than the SEC.
I don't think SEC helps in recruiting anymore.

Let's be honest, a national championship is not in our foreseeable future. I'd be content for now being a "feel good team" and winning 10 games and being competitive in every game we play.

So many of you are naive. There will always be the ASU fluke, TCU fluke. But when you don't recruit top 10 talent, you will just be those occasional star aligned type of teams.

Watch next year. I will bet anyone on here $100 that ASU will not win the big 12 next year. Will they be favored? Maybe but the chance of them replicating this year is very unlikely.

Ask TCU how things went after their title game. Ask FSU what happened after their undefeated season.

Ask Bama why they were always in the mix. Ask tOSU. Ask Ga.

Their staff is good but don't kid yourself that they didn't have the best players in college football year in year out. There is a reason they put so many in the NFL b/c they recruited the best.

Just because I won the lottery doesn't mean my chances are any better winning it again.

There will be other ASU in the future but please tell me a program that recruits in the 30's that is a top tier team? Please, just tell me one.

They had difference makers at key positions and plenty of grit. Something the Aggies absolutely did not have

4 and 5 star ranking and a 2 star heart.

Some get more out of less, others get less out of more.
