Don't see us beating, Arky, LSU, or tu on the road. We are so thin on the defensive line and we don't have any defensive backs that can cover, it's hard to predict any real victory except the gimmes. This team has to prove that they want to win. No one knows what we are going to put on the field in September.
The only road games I can see us winning are Arkansas and Missouri. I don't see us winning road games at Notre Dame, LSU, or Texas. Even if we beat Arkansas, we are almost guaranteed to lose to LSU because winning SEC road games in back-to-back weeks is the rarest of the birds. Before this season, it had only been done 8 times in 78 such occurrences over the last decade, and 3 times in 38 occurrences over the last five years (the same disclaimer applies here as in the linked article: this tally does not include trips to Nashville or games separated by a bye week). Those three teams were 2019 LSU, 2022 Georgia, and 2023 Alabama; in other words, two national champions and a top-4 team. Each of these teams had a "down" performance in one half of said back-to-back but were able to overcome it when all was said and done.

Let's walk through this.

Our first 3 games are as follows

UTSA
Utah St
@ND

We're 2-1 at least coming out or that stretch. Had we had Marcel starting we could have very well beaten ND this year. The lights were too bright for Wiggy.

The next 3 games are all at home

Auburn
Miss st
UF

That's a 3-0 stretch right there

So midway thru we are 5-1 or possibly 6-0 and ranked in the top 10

The next 3 games

@Arky
@LSU
@Mizzou

I'm going 2 and 1 in that scenario which puts us at 7-2

The next 3 games are
USCe
Samford
@tu

I'm going 2-1 in that group

Which means a 9-3 season. 3 loss teams just barely missed the playoffs this year.

And who knows we could beat ND or LSU.

How in the world is that more difficult than 2024?

We lose four games like every se.

Wow... you must not know own very much about football.

We only lost games once Marcel Reed was named QB1.

UF and Auburn are toss ups. LSU and Mizzou are most likely losses. USCe and tu are losses.

Looking at 8-4 again

The SEC is now a super conference. All teams are good or very good. All teams have great coaches and will improve themselves in the portal. We Aggies tend to look through maroon glasses. 8 wins is actually a great year!

9-3 is the upside as I see it. And the low side could be as bad as 6-6 if Arky, SC and Florida play up. They are capable in doing so and finished strong in the second half of the season. The best scenario is that the Aggies win the first three. And they blow out UTSA and Utah State. You will then know the team is playing at a high level. I'm talking 56-7 type blowouts.

LOL OP. It's like he didn't even watch this season.

6-6 in 2025. 7-5 if we steal a game.

Both the Gators and South Carolina will be getting hype. Gators might beat sips at home the week prior to us playing them at Kyle.

These are two nice home games.

People are going to be shocked when we win more games in 2025 than 2024 despite playing a more "challenging" road schedule. The SEC as a whole is going to be upside down in 2025 with how many big brand programs that are losing double digit amount of starters.

Always 8-4 until proven otherwise with 7-5 a strong possibility because as of right now there's no evidence our biggest problems this year are going to be significantly better next year

When I look at it I see 6-6 as most likely and 7-5 as a longshot. Anything greater than 6-6 will be a major accomplishment and will give great momentum heading into the next year. You are correct that I would be shocked with more wins than 2024, and I would firmly believe if that were the case that Elko was the next Saban.

I think you and many many others are not realizing just how many high impact starters and experienced guys teams like tu, lsu, Missouri and Notre Dame are losing. LSU, Missouri, and tu are losing entire OL and most front 7s. Notre Dame loses entire defense. All 4 likely to lose multi year starter at QB and other high end starters. I know everyone loves to throw around the "they reload" with these programs but that's just not realistic. The flip side is Florida and Auburn and even Arkansas are going to be good to quite good.

My whole premise is that those that tend to lose some next year draw the Aggies on the road. Notre Dame, Mizzou, lsu, and tu are all on the road and Arkie is played there. Until we prove that we are formidable on the road, I will not believe it. Especially after watching usc and auburn this season. Of those that we do play at home, a couple of the W's this year appear to be hitting their stride. It can be that it happens to us as well and Marcel could establish himself as a 2026 frontrunner, but I am going to need to see it first.

I want to believe, but after watching the last month of football, I am a skeptic.

Auburn is doing ok but they are ranked well do to numbers. their average is more than a point below us. Florida did look improved but we are home and they didn't look that great.

I've said it before. Florida will probably be one of the more improved teams in the SEC next year

Too many variables right now to even know which teams on the schedule will be up or down. Could also be highly dependent upon injury luck week to week.

A&M overall talent levels appear to be around 10-15 as per usual. So to get over the top I mostly want to know how Reed develops and if he can stay healthy. I also want to know what Elko plans to do with the defense since that is his background. If we are going to hire a defensive coach then we can't fall apart like we did in November if you want to go anywhere.

Pretty simple to see 2025 is harder than 2024…
We play @ND, @lsu, @tu, @Mizz, @Ark..

We played all those same teams at home in 24, so pretty sure it's harder to play on the road. Plus, UF and SC both are trending up while we are trending down..

Missouri should take a step back next year with Brady Cook leaving. Texas and ND will both lose a lot to the draft. Arkansas is not good.

UF and SC should both take a step forward.

Why are we trending down? We will have a healthy Rueben Owens, LeVeon Moss, and Amari Daniels to revive our run game, we made massive additions to our WR room, and we had a couple nice adds in the defensive backfield and should return a healthy Tyreek Chappell. I'm not a sunshine pumper, but on paper, we should be better next year, barring injuries.

This ^^^

We will return the most starters in the conference and maybe nation while all of our big road opponents are losing double digit starters and in tu's case for the second year in a row. The big 4 road teams are losing entire units while we return nearly everyone and have upgraded significantly on offense. Sure DT is an issue but we have upgraded DB. MIssouri, LSU, and tu lose their entire OL, let me repeat entire OL. South Carolina is going to lose a lot of experienced guys too but return some big time playmakers at key positions. Look for Auburn to take a big step forward and look for Florida to be a better team. The SEC is going to be upside down next fall and hopefully we can take that big step forward for once.

Sam Pittman is dead man walking right now, baring a miracle, Arkansas will have quite on him by the time A&M plays them.....but my BAS says that he will get a "vote of confidence" from the AD, beat A&M then lose the rest of the season and get fired in late November.

Mizzou will be worse next season and they weren't great this season.
