…..well makes as much sense as any other reason that has been talked about.
Wasn't it 7? Everyone was horrified of the NCAA, no one was willing to stand up behind Jackie, even RC, he saw the HC job ready to step into.AggieDruggist89 said:
It's Jackie Curse.
We threw him under the bus. And that's what tu wanted after the 5 straight schlacking we put on tu.
BMA didn't have the guts to stand up against tu and the NCAA.
Please!!!!! No more corny statues!!!!!PanzerAggie06 said:
The only curse about RC is letting him stick around for 20+ years keeping his fingers in the pie having an actual role in the program. Most schools send a dude packing after they fire him. We turned RC into a legend. We'll have a statue of him outside of Kyle soon enough.

Love this school? Of course he does... we've made him incredibly wealthy. Gee, what's not to love when that occurs? Thus, his undying "support" is well..... sorta a no-brainer on his part. What was he suppose to go do, coach somewhere else? Gee, wonder why that never happened.goosespn said:PanzerAggie06 said:

You can pound sand. We need more people like RC who love this school unconditionally. F off with your hate. The man has spent almost all of his career supporting the Aggies.
RC Slocum deserves to have a statue out in front of Kyle Field because he won 4 conference titles, and he did it with class.goosespn said:PanzerAggie06 said:

Life isn't all about wins and losses.

Jackie was the best and it's not even close. And I've got 60+ years of experience for comparisons.amercer said:
RC is the best coach we've had in the last 70 years.
That he was mediocre says a hell of a lot more about us than it does him.

Best win % in SWC history. Better than DKR.
A total of 4 home losses for the entire '90s.
Last coach to win a championship in football.

Unconditionally?
I thought he remained on payroll.
Not sure why he stuck around instead of getting a better coaching job elsewhere.

So basically, the best coach at A&M in the last 70 years was still just mediocre?

RC couldn't hold a candle to whomever ran the D under Jackie and brought about the advent of the Wrecking Crew.

The curse of RC was not immediately firing him when the plane touched down from the Sugar Bowl. If student fan like myself could predict our offensive plays with 80% accuracy from the stands, pretty sure tOSU coordinators were at 90% plus rate on knowing our plays. Letting him hang around and have an office after he was let go was even more ridiculous than giving him a decade plus of beating poor SWC teams and then getting thumped in every bowl game.
We won 6 in a row. 89 was under RC.aeon-ag said:Wasn't it 7? Everyone was horrified of the NCAA, no one was willing to stand up behind Jackie, even RC, he saw the HC job ready to step into.AggieDruggist89 said:
